Most Blacks are socialists. At least that's the conclusion I must draw from their voting record.

My wife cannot understand why I refuse to watch television, and when I do, why I get upset. Read this excerpt from the Media Research Center www.mrc.org. Liberals have no shame whatsoever. None. You almost have to admire the sheer chutzpah of these people, with a history as outlined by Larry Elder, and current unsung members in their ranks such as Robert "Sheets" Byrd, to make crap like the "West Wing" and "Commander in Chief".

A September 29 CyberAlert posting presciently forecast how "ABC's new Commander in Chief drama...clearly intends to make the conservative Republican 'House Speaker Nathan Templeton,' played by Donald Sutherland, the foil on the show revolving around Geena Davis as 'President Mackenzie Allen.'" On Tuesday's episode, the villainous Templeton has been told that "Special Assistant to the President Vince Taylor" is HIV-positive and he plans to reveal his health situation and to out him as gay, a move that so outrages Templeton's chief aide that she alerts the White House. Friends of the parents of "Kelly Ludlow," Press Secretary to the independent President, then come to DC with a tape of a 16 millimeter film of a 1965 fund-raiser, featuring the future House Speaker, made by their father who recently died. On the grainy black and white videotape of a smoke-filled room, Templeton contended that "segregation is the word of God" and railed about how "if the Lord Almighty wanted colored people to mix with whites...he wouldn't have placed them on separate continents." Referring to the Supreme Court, the early Templeton argued that "nine men in Washington can't change natural law" and, bringing up the KKK, that "black robes are worse than white robes." Templeton then laughed.

Did this make anyone else grit their teeth?

Somebody is not dialing the right numbers or those on the telephones answering the questions are not being truthful. Seems like there are far more than 2% approval rating for President Bush among Black Americans.

Supposedly, only 2% of black Americans approve of President Bush's job performance. I think even Jefferson Davis would have done better.

These numbers are absurd. Granted, African Americans are reliably Democratic and predominantly liberal. However, there is a broad range of opinion among this population, who are 12-13% of all Americans. Unless the survey was conducted in the poorest neighborhoods, my suspicion is that significantly more than 2% are Bush supporters. I even believe that black Americans to the political right of Bush, like Alan Keyes, are a greater percentage.

Even among Bush opponents among African-Americans, there are a large number of social and cultural conservatives who do not vote Republican. They are as uncomfortable with militant homosexuals and deteriorating public schools as their white counterparts. However, there are considerable barriers that have thwarted GOP inroads among this group in spite of attempts dating from Nixon's day to the present.

The core constituency of the Republican Party is middle class, non-Jewish whites who live outside the Northeastern megalopolis and the port cities of the West Coast. This core constituency is strongly opposed to affirmative action and is skeptical of the benefits of the welfare state. Many middle class blacks believe that affirmative action has helped them overcome the residual effects of slavery and segregation. Additionally, the welfare state is perceived, even among middle class blacks, as better than the old order of dead end, entry level jobs, low paying farm labor, and privation in hard times.

When Republicans attempt to stride the middle ground on issues of affirmative action and the welfare state, they do not succeed in attracting many black votes. OTOH, they manage to alienate some of the core constituency. Marginal Republican losses of the Virginia governorship and the California propositions last week may have been the result of conservatives sitting out the election out of disgust at very un-conservative policies on a national level in areas such as spending and immigration. The strong attacks by the President and Vice President against the critics of the Iraq war and the President's attacks on Chinese repression over the last few days may well be an attempt to woo alienated conservatives.

The GOP has little chance of increasing its percentage of black voters in the near future.

The loss of plantation escapees jumping the fence will continue to hurt the Democrats. Blacks are starting to listen to the GOP and liking what they hear. The dumb Whigs have now started to make racial attacks on Mike Steele. This will NOT help them keep the plantation gates closed.

As of this week, November 17 2005, Derrick Wallace, head of Orange County's NAACP, has switched parties -- to become a Republican.

"I've thought about this for two years," Wallace said Tuesday afternoon, just a few hours after returning from the elections office. "This is not a decision I made yesterday."

I guess he didn't get the memo.
