A spokesman for Michael Steele's campaign said the new campaign headquarters in Annapolis was broken into and computers were stolen sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Campaign spokesman Leonardo Alcivar said they don't currently believe the incident was anything other than a break-in for the purposes of theft.
He said it appears they lost a few laptop computers, but no sensitive data was compromised. Alcivar said the office has a series of both digital security measures and redundancies in place.
Annapolis police only had vague information on the incident, but an officer said two other offices in the building also were broken into before 5 a.m.

Sounds like a black bag operation by the Left, which means the entire state legislature are suspect.
Schumer?
Any oreos left?
Oh sure. Just a couple of gangbangers in the heart of downtown Annapolis (small town USA) looking for computers to fence/sarc. Maybe I better ask Steele's staffers if they want to borrow my 100 pound German shepherd for overnight sleep-ins.
Sop for dems during campaigns.
According to black libs, party trumps race so this is prefectly acceptable.
Tolerant leftists.
I'm sure that Democrats will step forward to denounce this as they did the "theft" of memos from a government network. < /sarcasm >
More fun and games in the Land of Peasant Living!
Even without this incident, the entire state legislature in Maryland has been more than "suspect" for a long time. Possibly the most corrupt and sleazy bunch at least east of the Mississippi. A "blue" state, of course.
This guy really scares the Dims, doesn't he?
They are pulling out all the stops to get him, legal and otherwise.
Prayers are needed now for protection and guidence.
It appears he has strong security at least on his computers.
Chucky Schumer, disappointed that no good dirt was found in Steele's credit report has decided to take another route.
Maryland DemocRATS should be ashamed of themselves. They won't be.
Steele's a fool if he doesn't start going after these things as hate crimes. I would think it would be very easy for him to put up the idea the people don't want him in office because he's black. I bet this sort of stuff didn't happen to any white republicans.
How long before the Dims burn a cross (I mean, crescent) on his front lawn?
The Dems came up with the idea of hate crimes, so use it against them.
Terry Lenzner and the boys?
Maybe they were "plumbers" ...
