A church official said it may be impossible to understand why a couple were slain in their home Sunday, saying "only God knows the purpose of this."
Michael and Cathryn Borden were killed allegedly by their daughter's 18-year-old boyfriend.
Police say David Ludwig shot the Bordens in the head and fled to Indiana with their 14-year-old daughter, Kara Beth.
He was captured there Tuesday following a high-speed chase and was flown back to Lancaster County to face murder and kidnapping charges. Prosecutors may seek the death penalty against him.
Ludwig was jailed without bail and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Nov. 23. Messages left at the public defender's office, which is representing Ludwig, weren't returned Wednesday, but attorneys planned a news conference later in the day.
The congregation at the Bordens' church planned a Wednesday evening prayer service.
"The Lord works within each of us in different ways, and only God knows the purpose of this," said George Landis, Monterey Chapel elder.
"Only the Lord knows what purposes are really being brought out here. But Mike and Cathy are in a better place."
Kara was reunited with her surviving family members Tuesday after returning to Pennsylvania in a separate plane.
District Attorney Donald Totaro said Kara Borden's role in what happened was still under investigation but added that he did not want "to imply in any way that we believe that she had any role or participated in the homicide."
Ludwig and Kara were home-schooled teenagers from Lititz, a small town about an hour west of Philadelphia.
Kara's 13-year-old sister, Katelyn, told investigators her parents were shot after they argued with Ludwig for about an hour, according to an affidavit filed in court. She said she ran into the bathroom and heard Ludwig running through the house calling for Kara.
The girls' 9-year-old brother ran to the neighbors, who called 911.
Yeah, like what happened near Littleton, Colorado...you NEVER heard them mention that it was at Columbine High School, did you? ;-)
We had murders in this area years ago, and the killer of those women always said he wanted to die, but dem governors wouldn't follow through. When Tom Ridge became governor and signed the execution papers, the convicted murderer changed his mind about wanting to die. He's still alive.
Right...because Fast Eddie is in there, we don't have someone to follow-up on Ridge's orders. :-(

Speaking of fast eddie, I know republicans who voted for him.
Actually, they were arguing over a curfew, he didn't get his way, and so he killed his girlfriend's parents.
What ever happened to, "Yes, sir?"
Many Republicans did. :-(
It seems pretty easy to understand to me.
Thanks, I've been praying for the parents and surviving children. I just can't forget about this, for some reason. I am not praying for the a*****e who killed them. I can't right now.

I have a 14 yr old niece, and I can't imagine this happening to her. It pays to check their blogs.
Kara's poor parents did everything "by the book" after she stayed out all night. Mine would have whipped the hell out of me.

Many republicans, in name only, voted for McGreevy and then compounded their error by voting for Corslime.
"David Ludwig and Kara Borden were obsessed with each other, a friend said today."
"The 18-year-old told friends he was sneaking into his 14-year-old girlfriends house in the middle of the night to see her."

When they were young we didn't even have them watching any TV.
All the kids have blogs, and I was suggesting to my brother today that he monitor his 14 yr old daughter's blog. I guess you have to buy software to do that. Glenn Beck was talking about it today.
Prayers for the family members, and all who have been touched by this terrible tragedy.
It's just the way people are raising their kids these days. No respect and they think everything is theirs for the taking.
""Kara's upset and crying," said Warwick Township police Chief Richard F. Garipoli Jr. "She is a 14-year-old-child, and I think some have forgotten that."
"Kara is being treated as a victim as far as I'm concerned," Garipoli said. "She is being taken care of well."
I think that's all we need to hear. Kara is being sheltered. Wonder if they'll make her go to her parents viewing and funeral?

She's going to have to go.
