Islamic Intolerance

In late October of this year, the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sparked outrage when he called for the wholesale destruction of Israel. When pressed to recant, Ahmadinejad instead joined a demonstration of an estimated one million marchers who carried placards reading, "Death to America" and "Death to Israel". Some demonstrators chanted, "Israel is approaching its death". They were attired in white shrouds, indicating their readiness to die for their cause.

Sadly, this is nothing new. In 2001, the United Nations hosted a conference on "racism". The U.N. declared that Zionism - the traditional wish for a Jewish state based in the Jewish homeland - defines racism. The irony of this position, voted upon by representatives of repressive Islamic and Arab states, is astounding. Tiny Israel, surrounded by hulking aggressive Arab neighbors, is the virtual paradigm of a successful, multi-ethnic society. Israel's population consists of black Ethiopians, Arab Morrocans, Iranians, Syrians, Egyptians and Yemenis along with Eastern Europeans and Europe's diaspora from World War II. Israel is one of the most tolerant and diverse countries in the world. Israel's population includes a large number of Arabs, who enjoy the same rights that Jewish Israelis have, including anti-discrimination laws, and the right to freedom of religion.

The Islamic world appears to feel free to disregard such niceties- apparently with impunity. Anti-Semitism is rife. In 2002, Egyptian TV aired a program based on the vastly discredited turn of the last century Russian "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", which has observant Jews making Passover matzot with the blood of Gentiles. In Iran, a popular TV series depicts "Zionists" kidnapping Palestinian children and harvesting their organs for profit. The Palestinians also have no qualms about depicting Jews in despicable roles in their official textbooks. Jews are allegedly descended from apes and pigs and the most noble thing that a Palestinian can do is to rid the world of this pestilence.

In a 2005 TV appearance, Palestinian imam Ibrahim Madiras declared that , "Jews are a cancer". Later, he preached that, "Muslims will kill the Jews...and rejoice in Allah's victory." Astoundingly, current Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has also claimed that, "The Zionists collaborated with the Nazis in order to drive the survivors to Palestine."

The "Voice of the Martyrs" newsletter records the trial of three Christian women who have been imprisoned and threatened with the death of themselves and their families for simply preaching the Gospel and owning Bibles. Author Craig Will, after 9/11, researched Islam, studied the Koran and interviewed leaders from Al Queda and the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade. In his subsequent book, "Prophet of Doom," he wrote that, "Islam loves peace then must mean that peace will exist when we have all been subjugated under Islamic rule." Will continued, "Muslim militants will continue to slaughter Christians and Jews, peaceful Muslims and atheists alike, until there are no more. They have declared holy war, and we must respond."

The Western world cannot fail to respond to this dire threat. Yet, our Fifth Column - the media elites and their fellow travelers on the Left - not only fail to recognize this mortal enemy; they in many ways collaborate with them. As jihadist fighters pour into Iraq to fight the infidel, they can take comfort from the rantings of Ted Kennedy, who asserts that, "We have made Iraq a training ground for terrorists" and that the United States is, "bogged down" in Iraq. Or, Jay Rockefeller, who wants to know, "What progress we have made" in Iraq and who states that, "We don't seem to be able to put together the technology or manpower or combination thereof to get the job done." (QUAGMIRE, anyone?) Or Dick Durbin who compares the United States military to Nazis, Stalinist goons and Pol Pot's murderous thugs.

Senators Kennedy and Durbin are notorious for being longtime leftist sympathizers and therefore one is entitled to be skeptical of their current proclamations. Senator Kennedy is, likewise, disregarded as a man who long ago gave up whatever moral authority perhaps he at one time possessed.

However, Senator Rockefeller is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee. Senator Rockefeller is therefore a man privy to wartime intelligence and thus a man who should feel compelled to stand on the side of his country during a war against an infinitely evil and implacable enemy. That he feels compelled, instead, to take the side of the enemy speaks volumes about the Democrat agenda and vision for the future. Fellow Americans who happen to be conservative and/or Republican, become a greater threat than Islamokazis who would make good on their threat to murder us all.

Today's current Democrats seem to feel no compunction to side with their country or their countrymen during a war every bit as important as World War II. It is about time that the Republicans called them on it.

What do yo expect from a country in throes of the dark ages? IIRC, Christian nations were not too tolerant of anything other than Christianity (and sects of Christianity were not tolerant of each other!) during that period. We got over it, but Iran recently backslid into the Dark Ages. They are just being consistant to their culture.

In 1998 during peace negotiations sponsored by the Clinton administration Israel admitted to possessing a nuclear arsenal of approximately 200 warheads. They are believed to have gone in to production of 25 - 35 warheads per year since that time. 1 will be for Medina and 1 for Mecca, obviously, but where will the rest detonate? They range in size from strategic level to small underground "bunker busters"(tech stolen from us) - who thinks the survivors of the holocaust are going down alone?
