This sounds like a tactic that was used by animal rights nutjobs over in the UK, except in this case they have taken it a step further by actually physically harming an individual. A recent article on the UK kooks had one of them stating that they couldn't believe that other, like-minded individuals hadn't taken up these tactics for their own causes given some of the success in the UK. Looks like someone is taking that kooks advice.

Don't bother with specifics or honestly citing solid conservative ideals Grassley has shown.
Many people can't be bothered with facts.

Grassley, in his last term, has proven himself to be senile and has abandoned conservatives. Not to mention his behind-the-scenes machinations against Salier.

I read the first posting a few days ago and it all seemed as weird then as it does now. I sure hope she is o.k., and I cannot imagine why anyone would hurt a lady getting stuff out of her car unless they intended to try and intimidate her in her investigations. Sounds like they really beat the stuffings out of this poor lady and I hope they are caught, and put away for a long time.

Read the article, didn't even try to get money. That's what perks the ears up because the mask says it was planned. The assaulter wanted to the aide to get the message, not coverup the assault by making it look like robbery either.

Grassley, in his last term, has proven himself to be senile and has abandoned conservatives. It would probably help your case if you were to cite a few specific examples.
The two things I can remember are (1) he was a major player in the Colossal Medicare Prescription Drug Giveaway, and (2) a couple years ago, he killed the Senate Energy Bill when he found a way to attach to it $50M+ for his idiotic Iowa Child Project indoor rain forest "tourist attraction" a.k.a. "The Pork Forest." (He eventually got the $50M by burying it in an omnibus appropriations bill; unlike energy bills, appropriations bills are immortal).
Please remind me of some other examples. I must admit I tend to forget bad memories.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary.)

He sold out to the moderates on the Bush Tax Cut, channeled the ghost of Karl Marx and said that the oil companies should share the wealth, endorsed Ganske over Salier, blatantly lied about the medicare costs, voted to federalize airline security, voted for the Department of Homeland Security, introduced legislation to allow illegal immigrants access to American universities, voted for the Highway bill...
