Weird that we didn't pick up on this when it happened. Note the circumstances, she was targeted for intimidation.

If this is work-related, theres a lot of people on my staff who might be in a dangerous situation, said Grassley, visibly disturbed. My, Chuckles (R-Retirement Village) certainly has a high opinion of his importance.

Oh, geez. How long you think it'll be before Sen. Dayton (D-MN) flees?

Indeed. The media will run with the Rove/Scooter did it version, I'm sure.

You made a comment on the Iowa board about Grassley being "senile". Of course, he isn't and I particularly recall him being very high profile in a couple of things:
- Pushing for tax cuts.
- Limiting rainforest subsidies.
- The Barrett Report. It was through some deft maneuvering that he got that thing released.

I wouldn't be dissing Grassley if I were you. This is serious stuff.
Federal law enforcement has joined the case based on concerns that DiSantos role in Grassleys high-profile anti-corruption efforts could have put her in physical danger.
To: nonliberal
Sounds to me like he has a (justified) high opinion of his staff and the important work they are doing.

It is time to put Grassley out to pasture.

If what I read is correct DC is a place where assaults occur every day. Are they sure this was not just another druggie looking for some cash to buy more drugs?

It happened outside of her Northern Virginia home and no that is NOT a common occurrence in the area where she lived.

Your opinion is duly noted but seems to have little bearing on the article at hand or the nature of this crime.

Seems too random. There haven't been any other attacks on staffers for anyone else on the committeed.

I'm not sure what the purpose of a beating would be. It's probably a personal thing.

Limiting rainforest subsidies. The attack on DiSanto smells like ELF.

DiSanto works on very specific cases and is the name most mentioned when these things are brought up in the press. I pray it does turn out to be something totally random- but I fear it is not.
