173 Sunnis freed from secret Shi'ite torture chamber

U.S. and Iraqi forces raided a secret Iraqi detention bunker run by the Ministry of Interior in central Baghdad and freed 173 Sunni prisoners who had been tortured with electric shocks and drills, Iraqi and U.S. officials said yesterday.

The Democrats were hoping it was us conducting the torture. This would bolster the Clintons newly found non support for the War in Iraq, and thus, Hillary's move towards the polling.

Well...at least it was broken up. If these "old habits" are brought to justice in full view of the public...maybe the people of Iraq will see that justice has come to thier country, and not just a new boss to replace the old one. My hope.

Clinton needs to stick to doing what he does best- NOTHING.

...and what now are vices are the problem of the United States. I can't even fathom what this news will do for the already bad/shakey relations between the Shi'ite and the Sunni, let alone the crap storm this will draw up with the libs.

Doesn't matter. They'll say we did it anyway. Never accuse the left of letting facts get in the way of telling a story that helps their America bashing agenda.

"not meant to be a democracy"? Sounds pretty Calvinist/predestinationist to me. What does our Declaration say? "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these rights are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed"...EVERY nation was "meant to be a democracy" (or a representative republic, as ours is).
