Dr. Coburn is one of the few people I have voted for that went to the Congress and is doing what he said he would do -- he would be great as President because his words mean something and are not just political rhetoric.
The Oklahoma establishment was against Dr. Coburn in the Senate race but he rallied folks like me who are part of the Okalahoma Republican grassroots and in a three-man race, Dr. Coburn won without a run-off in the Republican primary. He got in the race late, but his voice ignited the grassroots and the rest is history.
He has a message that is clear, conservative, and from the heart and is not afraid to stand up for what is right. He is just a good man who would make a great President IMHO.
Works for me!
Yeah, I realized that as I read further ... see my post #13
Thanks! I knew there was a General Chong or I probably wouldn't have read further.
we need Coburn to run for Governor, then it would be much easier for him to move up to President.
He would make a great Governor!
Bumping your two cents!
Just sent the speech to two friends of mine who engage in mass emailing!
Do you listen to the Sports Animal on the radio? Jack Mildren does about an hour every afternoon on there. He is "debating" whether to run, as a Democrat of course, for Congress. I think he figured out the longer he waits to announce, the longer he can get free publicity on the radio.
I am SOOO glad that Coburn won and Anthony, Humphries and Carson lost!
Heard last night from a total reliable source that he has told people he is NOT running -- a Dem doesn't stand a prayer against either Mary Fallin or Denise Bode IMHO. The winner of Fallin/Bode/Morgan IMO will win the seat.
You and me both. Humphreys stopped by our Women's Club meeting the night that I heard Dr. Coburn announce on the radio. I was talking to his aide and asked if they had heard Dr. Coburn was getting in the race. Humphreys jumped in and basically said the more the better and he wasn't worried about Dr. Coburn getting in the race. He might as well said bring it on -- I have this nailed down.
Went home from the meeting and the next morning I called Muskogee and volunteered for Coburn. I vowed that night to work as hard as I could to get Dr. Coburn elected. Never made so many phone calls in my life and it was worth every one of those.
One of Humphreys' aides who I knew from a Congressional campaign in 2002 asked me why I went immediately to Coburn and I said one word "arrogance" from Humphreys. IMHO, he would have been someone who could be swayed where Dr. Tom is his own person and votes what is best for Oklahomans and this Country.
Best move I ever made to jump to Coburn right away -- met some of the neatest people from that campaign.
bump
I spread the word here on FR as well as all my co-workers and relatives who live here. Humphries and Anthony rightly deserved the political spanking that was delivered by grassroots people like you! I was hoping that the GOP took notice on a national level, but I think they will need to be reminded yet again!
By the way, I'm still trying to scrap what I can to be there on Friday. Just doesn't look good at this point. Check your FReepMail. Thanks!
Check your Freep Mail -- have a surprise for you!
They took notice big time. Pres Bush was ready to make a last minute trip into OK to help out Coburn when the poll numbers turned in his favor big time and momentum totally shifted. We have become a model for grassroots activism after that campaign.
BTW, have heard that the President will be making some trips into OK for our Governor's race. We need to beat Henry!
I'd like to participate any any way possible to attend a Bush rally (even if it means being on the clean-up crew afterwards). THANKS FOR THE "suprise"!
