This is a great article. The sight of that Russian MiG-25 Foxbat being dug out of the dirt, buried completely unprotected, would horrify any active duty or retired ground crew member.
Pre-Iraq invasion, I, along with a lot of other FReepers, followed the WMD issue pretty close. Veteran FReepers have access to a lot of information, on site and off, that left no doubt in anybody's mind of the existence of bio/chem/nuclear weapons in the hands of Saddam.
Where did it all go?
Any interesting interview with an inspectorand some pretty clear conclusions by some FReepers on the answer to that question.
Global politics is indeed a dirty business.

Where did it all go? You're right, but there were some doubts raised by more than a few here. These few scoffed that we hadn't found any, initially.
There was no doubt that he had them, so the only question was where did they go?

People who post on FR pretending to be conservatives, but are actually either "moderate" Republicans, or Democrats, trying to steer conservatives leftward, are noticeable. I've seen them here and there.

Are you for real? That's what Joe "Yes I am a slimeball" Wilson was doing in Niger?

I see no need to criticize the interviewer, as he is not singing the anti-American 'Rat tune as you are. I'll admit, however, that he is dancing to their tune, given that he's offering a counterpoint to the story fabricated by the 'Rats.
Saddam's WMD programs were active. Some may have had less activity than others, but if the program exists, it's active. Saddam wasn't just dreaming, he was acting. And you won't find legitimate pesticide plants on any official list of reasons why we invaded Iraq. Quit obfuscating!
Actual WMDs have been found in Iraq. I'm guessing there's a bunch still there--under the sand somewhere and in Syria. Al Qaeda had a plan that was thankfully foiled to hit Jordan with a big chemical attack not long ago. Where do you think they planned on getting their chemical weapons? No informed person denies that WMDs have been found in Iraq--this is why the 'Rats have moved the goal posts and now require stockpiles of WMDs. One doesn't need an entire stockpile to carry out a terrorist attack, which is why it is prudent to have some duct tape and plastic sheeting at home.
Our troops wore NBC suits during the invasion primarily because Saddam was threatening to use chemical weapons on them. Sounds like a damn good reason to suit up to me.

Dismantled, as well as the Bekka valley. Syria has had a wmd program for decades, other than nuclear if it existed, the rest just blends in.

Remember the French warning the Iraqis every time the inspectors decided on some location to search? Our great pals, the French.

I agree, I don't understand why that wasn't played up more than it was.
I have believed all along that all wmd went to Syria but Syria didn't want to left 'holding the bag' and shipped them to Libya, which at that time, was off the radar, as far as the war was concerned.( I remember a 'mysterious ship', that was spotted circling in the ocean and not responding to messages.)
Perhaps Qaddafi (sp) accepted that ship into port and seen a great opportunity by turning over all 'his' wmd to the United States, in other words, we got Iraq's wmd from Libya.
Hey, it's as good as any explanation out there, or maybe not but it sure would be a great movie plot.

Either the WMDs are somewhere, or Saddam ran the most superbly successful (and dumbest) disinformation campaign in history.

"It was a mistake when the right allowed RINO liberals into the conservative party and they are getting bit by these monsters."
History lesson--the Republicans WERE the party of the left for quite a few years. Only recently have they pretended to be right wing. Let's just hope the right wing makes them actually convert at some point, because the vote on the Coburn Amendment in the Senate sure demonstrates that the vast majority of the Senate ain't conservative.
