"....but MO isn't going to be stupid enough to send a 'Rat to pad the Hillary/Kennedy numbers in the Senate."

Pray for no plane crashes, we have been known to vote for the dead.

People do not get re-elected just by being good conservatives.

And any suggestion that Talent can singlehandedly change the Republican party is too childish to comment on.

Where was that conclusion drawn from?

"People do not get re-elected just by being good conservatives."

And where did that conclusion come from?

Try reading lessons. Otherwise you will miss a whole world of opportunity.

God I am sick of polls.........there would be NO NEWS if NOT for POLLS, which are not supposed to be taken to PRODUCE news, however they are [taken to produce news] and they do.

I don't have any problem with the guy, and I hope he does a good job, but it's hard to imagine him getting as far as he did as fast as he did if his dad wasn't the Majority Whip. It seems to me there must have been better candidates around MO somewhere.

But anyhow, that's all water under the bridge. I wish him well and I hope he proves me wrong.

"Actually, she has won two statewide elections as state Auditor (1996 & 2000) by wide margins. She has also won elections as Jackson County DA, Jackson County Commissioner, and state Representative. She may be a dingy lefty, but she's politically formidible."

She never faced any tough opponents until she faced Matt Blunt. My comment about her facing "losers" was all her previous opponents. The Republicans inexplicably nominated an ex-con (!) to run against her at one point for Auditor. Her formidability is very suspect.

A plane crash wouldn't matter this time. Gov. Matt Blunt gets to appoint the Senator (as One-Term Bob the 'Rat did last time). If Jim Talent loses to a corpse, he'll be reappointed to his seat anyway. A plane crash is a win-win for us. ;-)
