Turning the Democratic Party away from a staunch pro-choice position has not been an easy task. When Tom Roemer, a former congressman from Indiana, campaigned to become chairman of the Democratic National Committee, his platform included "tolerance of differing views on abortion, Boyer reports. I don't know why it should be difficult, they lie about everything!

Yeah that Casey's son even has a chance is due to the fact the Democrats know their "my way or the highway" attitude on abortion has cost them votes in the middle. Quite a few liberals used to be pro-life until the party read them out - voters like Catholics who are liberal on economic issues and conservative on social issues like abortion and gay marriage. I don't know if the Democrats are going to be accepting of people not toeing the party line on abortion. We'll see.

I have noticed this recent turn as well, and I fear that it may be even worse than their original pro-murder stand. Instead of the absolute negative-positive that we have now -- where people at least have an idea what side they wish to stand on -- the Dems turn it into a morass where "all choices are equal."
In the resultant mess of 100% ambivalence, the pro-lifers no longer have a clear target and defined enemy. Faced with a voting populace that doesn't seem to care too much about these things, abortion sticks around.
And it also clears the way for the soon-to-be-coming "voluntary euthaniasia" -- when the children and grandchildren of the baby boomers, taxed 1-for-1 to support their elders and raised for two generations without God or morality, decide that the new crop of legislators should allow for families to make a "family choice" about whether or not Grandma's life is worth living (and supporting with tax dollars for gargantuan entitlement programs).
I hope I'm wrong.

The Democrats are so intent on unseating Republicans in Congress next year that theyre even moderating their strong pro-choice stance on abortion. I won't hold my breath for them to modify their anti-gun stance.
