The Teresa Halbach murder has a state senator hoping to expand a proposal to reinstate Wisconsin's death penalty.
< snip>
Lasee says the Halbach case is so gruesome that he now wants to amend the referendum to apply to any vicious murder with DNA evidence.
American Civil Liberties Union spokesman Peter Kellogg opposes the move, saying it would lead to a continued broadening of cases in which the death penalty could apply.
Wisconsin lawmakers repealed capital punishment in 1853. It's one of 14 states without the death penalty.

won't happen under doyle.
Wonder if there's enough support for it for walker to campaign for governor on a platform of restoring the death penalty?
Can't even get concealed carry by Doyle. But oh how he loves to reward his big campaign contributors.
I think we need to get the indian tribes to get on board with concealed carry, then doyle would do cartwheels on his way to signing the bill, if that's what they wanted him to do.

And the downside would be....?
Steven Avery's 16-year-old nephew was charged Thursday with helping him rape and kill a photographer who went to the family salvage yard to take pictures a minivan they had for sale.

They both deserve the death penalty! In fact, they should die the way Theresa did.

You are not paying attention. The family members are still claiming this whole charge is a set-up. They are innocent! Give the poor guy(s) a break./VERY HEAVY SARCASM>
I just can't imagine what was going through Teresa's mind, body and soul on that fateful day. I still see Avery on TV saying he would "help" with the investigation and do everything he can to help bring Teresa back to her family. He's INNOCENT! < puke >
One word, DOYLE = DEMOCRAT
Hi, Repinwi! I wanted to post about Teresa yesterday, but all of the articles were so amazingly graphic; couldn't bring myself to do it.
Flashbunny:
"Won't happen under doyle."
You've got that right. The only thing that has happened under Doyle is more money sucked out of my pocket and more hand outs to special interests.
I'd first push for CC over the death penalty. I think it's too devisive a topic for a political campaign, but Walker will have my vote as well. :)
I am ENRAGED that Teresa had to die in that manner. You know, CC would allow us to carry tasers, too. Even if you don't like guns, a taser sure could get you out of a deadly situation. RIP, Teresa. You're my Poster Woman for CC; wish it didn't have to be so. :(
My heart aches for the family of Teresa and what they must be going through! I hope when it's over they will storm Madison and change some of these stupid laws we now have on the books in remembrance of Teresa.
Like you said, this is an excellent case to look at the CC again. But I wouldn't hold my breath. Our state is so backwards and has gone that way since Thompson left. There is no leadership right now. Hopefully that will all change in November!

No, I'm not a Star Wars freak, LOL! I just like that sentiment. You can count on me. I've already donated to Walker, and will be knocking on doors, helping with mailings and computer work and making phone calls as soon as I'm needed.
Can't wait! I had such a blast working on Bush's campaign in '04. Time to gird my loins and gear up for battle again. ;)
