"Brigadier General Karl Horst, who commanded the troops that carried out the raid on Sunday night, told reporters that American forces now planned to raid all known detention facilities in the capital."

Some folks are going to be sorry to see us go. The Kurds and Shiites have a lot of payback to do.

Yet another reason why we can't pack up and leave just yet - we haven't finished 'civilizing' them yet.

"Up to 200 malnourished Iraqi detainees bearing signs of torture have been found in a secret prison in the basement of a Government building in Baghdad."

Thank goodness it was U.S. forces that did the discovery and not the U.N. or the Red Cross or Sunnis talking to Al Jazeera where the PR damage would have been much worse.

yeah.
if the sunnis had sense (a stretch) they'd be begging the U.S. to stay and protect instead of blowing us up w/roadside bombs.
if we leave early they're history.

I have always wondered what happened to all those captured terrorists.

Should we stay or should we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
And if we stay it will be double
So come on and let us know
Should we stay or should we go?
We're darned if we don't and darned if we do (by the press). I say we stick to the plan.

Give the liberal media time.
It'll be bush's fault by the end of the week.
Care to take any bets on it? :-P

They'll probably tie it in with his secret Iraq visit during Thanksgiving. He personally oversaw the operation and stuffed his face with turkey before the malnourished.

If I'm not mistaken, Iraq is now a free and independent country and can treat their prisoners any way they wish! They are not part of the U.N. and are not signatories to any U.N. BS.
So, what right has the U.S. to interfer in Iraqi prison policies?

"if the sunnis had sense (a stretch) they'd be begging the U.S. to stay and protect instead of blowing us up w/roadside bombs.

for that very reason hopefully this can be turned to our advantage and increase sunni involvement in the political process as the best way to protect their interests.
