DoughtyOne to Chertoff, capturing and prosecuting criminals is too costly, lets empty the prisons and just try to get along.

ACLU lawyers donate their time for free - pro bono cases

Government lawyers would cost taxpayers a lot of money

And that is only one element of the whole big picture

AND FOR THE RECORD ... I'm not saying we should not process illegal criminals and do nothing

But Chertoff has a point about the cost

Thanks for the comments Mol. Please remind me when the government had too few funds to do ANYTHING AT ALL it actually wanted to do. Now, aren't Chirtoff's comments absurd?

I'd submit the costs of not evicting are much higher BTW. Many deaths have resulted. May rapes and molestations have resulted. A lot of other crime has resulted. Ask the loved ones or the other victims of the illegal alien blight if there's a price too high.
