Personally, I think we're seeing The Mother of All Rope-a-Dopes. Or is it Rove-a-Dopes?
Rove is going for all the marbles. At some future date, massive, irrefutable proof will be presented in spectacular fashion. The goal is to crush the credibility of the MSM, destroy it beyond repair, and swing the balance of media power to the New Media for the 2008 election cycle.
I can think of no other reason for the Bush Administration's seeming reluctance to promote its side of the story.

I'd like to see that proof. Now would be fine, not later.
If it is suddenly 'discovered' to be in Syria, necessitating another invasion to protect us from model airplanes that will spray us all with Saddam's naughty liquids, I think a lot of people will find it suspicious.
Don't you think your scenario might be flimsy? We can't keep the secret prisons a secret. Why are we doing so much better at keeping WMD secret for much longer?

I sure hope your right. I am beyond frustration, at them laying down and playing dead.

That's sure what I've been hoping for, but this has dragged on an awfully long time without adequate response from the WH. Also, I don't know how Rove would have complete control over dissemination of info that was not provided even for the Kay or Duelfer reports (though those certainly had plenty of damning info for the "Saddam was never any threat" crowd of Demagogic revisionists).
Anyway, I'd sure like to believe that the WH has been preparing an adequate counter-campaign, but we'll have to see it to believe it and the MSM probably won't let it get any attention anyway.... or they will use headlines like that AP crap last night saying "Bush Escalates Bitter Debate....." making it sound like the WH is just being partisan and petty when it's the 'RATs and the MSM who have been positively UNPATRIOTIC and DISHONEST.

Quiet a fantasy. Rove is a tool. Forget about it.

Personally, I think we're seeing The Mother of All Rope-a-Dopes. Personally I've been hearing rope-a-dope for 5 years now and ain't never seen a single shred of evidence that the Bush adminstration is even capable of doing a rope-a-dope except by sheer accident.
