CAPITOL HILL Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid says it's time to "take the training wheels off the Iraqi government."

Democrats are continuing their attacks on the administration's handling of pre-war intelligence.

Senator John Kerry, who lost to the president a year ago, called the war "one of the great acts of misleading and deception in American history."

Oh? I thought that described his presidential campaign.

How far are these scurrilous scum going to go? This isn't politics. These vicious, blatant lies and calumnies during wartime should be considered treason.

"Today, America and Europe are standing together with the ___ people. The United States and France worked closely to pass U.N. Security Council Resolution 1559. This resolution demands that ____'s sovereignty be respected, that all foreign forces be withdrawn, and that free and fair elections be conducted without foreign influence. The world is now speaking with one voice to ensure that democracy and freedom are given a chance to flourish in ___.

French President Chirac, British Prime Minister Blair, and German Chancellor Schroder have all called on ____to withdraw from ___. A ___withdrawal of all its military and intelligence personnel would help ensure that the ___elections occur as scheduled in the spring, and that they will be free and fair."

Sounds like he thinks occupying forces need to be withdrawn before free and fair elections can take place, doesn't it? I've removed the names of the countries involved. Can you guess the author of this quote?

The Democrats are terrified that December 15th is coming, and they wheels haven't fallen off yet.

The Democrats, the U.N. and even folks like Drudge are combining to put on the full court press before victory can be achieved over their dead bodies.

I don't like it one bit!

Are these repubs going to join the dems and demand an end to the war ..??

If they do .. THEY WILL STAND A GOOD CHANCE OF NOT GETTING RE-ELECTED.

"These jerks are doing everything they can to destroy the Iraq mission, everything.

And all for nothing more than a political agenda."

True. This is starting to smell more and more like the party of Howard Dean everyday. I think the powers that be took the muzzle of him, and are letting him call the shots all the way through '06. Meanwhile, Hillary is positioning herself as the voice of reason in the party, which scares me to death because I am sure more and more people are seeing her as a palatable choice just because she is the star pupil in a class of degenerates.

They are trying to flip the script on the war issue and depending on how the public reacts, I would not be surprised if they will run on pulling all service members out of Iraq regardless of the consequences by election time.

Here is an article that spells out what the DEMS and the REPS...(at least Warner and Frist) are doing.

I wonder which entity has the worse war record, the French nation or the Dimocrat pahty?

The French nation has, at least, won one war, the French Revolution but have the Dimocratz ever won a war? I know as the party in power, they started most of the wars that the U.S. has been in although the party ending those wars were Republicans.

I was about to make that point.

The dem cordinated agenda for 2006 to try to win elections is already on full display. Its not even 2006 yet, but here we go:

Have their buttbuddies at the MSM keep informing the public that the president and GOP are somehow "weakened".

Appear to be putting pressure to withdrawl troops so when it actually does start happening and had nothing to do with them, they can claim it was because of their actions. (One of the most basic tactics of dems like Kerry. Take credit for things what were already going to happen without you).

Keep claiming the whitehouse lied to go to war and that their is a "culture of corruption" with the Bush administration.

Your point encompasses a longer timetable than mine did, as I was only pointing to the next Iraqi election these liberals were campaigning for.

Bush probably intends if things go to plan to withdraw some troops next year, and the Dems want to take "credit" for "forcing" him to do it. I think that is the plan.

If I were this president I would be furious with the House Republican leadership. There is no way in hell I'd agree to demand a quarterly report. That will escalate to the point that Bush will be hamstrung, and our efforts abandoned.

If I were Bush I'd be developing a blistering State of the Union message that would leave the Democrats bloodied.

Reports are meaningless. Bush keeps the key leaders informed in any event. Obviously, the only thing of any meaning is a timetable, and no commander in chief can agree in advance to something, which is contingent on events. A more meaningful discussion, would be what events trigger a withdrawal or drawdown. Is it progress, or a lack of progress because Iraqi troops prefer for Americans to take the tough jobs, or because it appears to be more about getting involved in a civil war, rather than terrorists, or what? But having a meaningful discussion is typically too dangerous for politicians to engage in, because it disrobes them too much.

I agree about a State of the Union speech. Bush needs to tear them a new one.

You should have seen the posts on the Senate thread while Levin and Warner were "debating" this...

One really gets the impression that the Senate wants to start running this war...like the did during the end of Vietnam...and take the job from Rummy and Cheney (they hate both)...

The dems even want to set timeframes for certain "goals" in order to have all troops out in 2006...but, THEY want this to be in public...by President Bush...LOL
