TALL AFAR, Iraq, Nov. 14, 2005 — Coalition forces, with the aid of the Iraqi workers, distributed several truckloads of blankets to the local residents here, Nov. 13.

With Iraqi soldiers and the Iraqi police forces spearheading the campaign, and elements of the 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, the 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment, and the 401st Civil Affairs Battalion supporting them, several thousand blankets were given to schools and people in need.

Temperatures in the region are beginning to drop as the onset of winter arrives bringing a need for blankets.
Trucks moved through the city streets so the blankets could be distributed.

The Iraqi police set up a distribution point at one of the schools here, where several hundred residents lined up to receive a blanket.

The distribution of blankets is part of an effort by coalition forces to give aid to the less fortunate residents here.

This is great, but what about the short Afar residents? Aren't they going to get blankets, too, eventually?

The next time some wild ass goon from Saudi Arabia who thinks he has some idea as how the True God works, trys to convince this women to shelter him, perhaps she will swing around with an AK-47 and let him have it between the eyes.

Of course I assume the wild ass goon can still penetrate those ever tighning borders along the northeastern Syrian border.
