And how is that, Secretary Rice?

It has long been the job of Sec. of State to make pronouncements on how they wish things were in the world, while ignoring all objective evidence to the contrary.

It is a seldom successful childrearing technique, that assumes if you tell the offending child that you expect great things from him, his behavior will change.

The purpose here seems to be to inform the world that the U.S. is being fair in its stated expectations.

In fact it only makes us look stupid, and results in emboldening the PLO, by making them think we are committed to tolerating their behavior.

Allowing cargo and "opening up supply lines" for weaponry are totally different things. You make the link and insist that people deal with your warped characterization of it.

I wanted to know what justified the label anti-Semitic with regard to Rice and I got my answer: nothing.

"Warped characterization"? This is only what has happened time and time again. If you're so insistent on being in denial of events that have repeatedly happened, in the face of the unambiguous intention of the terrorists to repeat that behavior, then I can't help you.

Rice has come out of the closet and shown all the world that she too hates Jews. It's sad, I expected so much more than that out of her.

First off, she an appointed official enforcing the President's vision. If you're not happy with her, then you're shooting the messenger.

Second, Israel is going to be dealing with terrorism for eternity unless they do something different. Wringing hands and gnashing teeth about Palestinians isn't progress. Turning the Palestinian Authority them into an actual government is. It changes the game on the political, military, cultural, and propaganda level. It is risky, but at least there is the possibility of light at the end of the tunnel. There's no light now, only perpetual conflict.

You don't have to like the President's solution, but calling his Secretary of State a 'jew-hater' for trying to sell it is infantile and ignorant.

I think the historical record is long enough to show that there is no peace at the end of any tunnel that involves giving assistance to the Palis. Time and time again they have used the assistance given to them not to better themselves or to form a government, but rather to make war.

If you take a look at the situation on the ground today, the PA is further from being a government than it was under Arafat - it has almost no control over the territory assigned to it.

It's time to end the practice of sacrificing Israeli civilians on the altar of wishful thinking.

This question would have been a good scare prank on Freepers for Halloween:

”LOL! Some folks around here would vote for Hillary if she ran as a Republican!”

Maybe it would work for April fools day?

Something like: Rumors are Hillary Clinton has given up on the Democrat party and is switching to the Republican Party. Will you vote for Hillary, John Kerry or a third party that cann’t win for president?

Then put the Palestinians to the sword. All of them.

Of course, you're not going to do that. You're not going to deport them all to Jordan, or do anything harsh enough to work. Just put the occasional Hellfire missile into a Hamas leader's car in the occasional tit-for-tat retaliation, and whine about the unfairness of it all.

You sacrifice Israeli citizens every day on the altar of wishful thinking. You have no ideas or plans, just complaints. Yes, it is unfair - Israel is stuck with a pack of savage thugs as neighbors. That doesn't mean the problem can go unsolved, simply because life's not fair.

President Bush is rearranging the deck in the Middle East, and while no one seems to like it, no one's stepped up with a better plan. Or any plan. Just complaints. I for one am tired of all the endless griping. Everyone in that whole region is aggrieved. Everyone's got a bloody shirt to wave, and a claim of historical injustice. Enough already. It's long past time for everyone to get over it and find a solution.

What's being tried now is a repeatedly proven failure. (The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.) What needs to be tried is population transfer. It has worked well in other areas of the world, such as Pakistan and India. It deserves a chance far more than another attempt to get murderous animals to stop being what they are.

LOL! If we word it right we could get any answer we want!
I remember a poll a few years back from some liberal group. The question went something like this:
"Do you favor reasonable gun control laws, or should a 5 year old be able to carry a handgun to school?"

Sorry, No problem with your wording. The post just reminded me of how polls can get any response they want. I've gotten some humdingers!
No insult or offense intended.

You're worse than a Foxman, worse than Jesse Jackson, worse than anyone you defame when you choose to use that label so recklessly.

You dishonor the lives of millions who died under real anti-Semitism, just so you can have a position that's free from criticism. Sickening.

You are the one that is unfairly misrepresenting here because we are talking about a situation in which one party's expressed reason for being is to repeat Hitler's holocaust, ergo, anything that helps them do it advances the cause of middle east naziism.

I am seeing a lot of closet Jew haters boldly marching out of their closets lately, for such a time is this, the Lord said this would happen. And the world goes back to their sitcoms and gyms and spas.... as in the days of Noah.

What you see and say is true of course.
We are about to see delusion in a way we have not seen it.

Quit spamming me. Or is it anti-Semitic to say that?

I said before that I don't agree with the dumb policy, but just because Rice expresses the views of the administration which is the view of several decades of diplomacy, which is usually nothing more than hot air and gestures, does not make her anti-Semitic, you race-baiting idiots!

Just trying to show you what I know. I view any policy based on a double-standard with regards to Israel's behavior, as opposed to the differing expectations of other nations with similar issues, to be anti-Semitic. What other reason can there be for singling out Israel for different treatment, other than that it is the only Jewish nation? Even if the policy merely aims to confirm the realities of the dispositions of its Islamic neighbors, to affirm those dispositions - which are all explicitly anti-Semitic - is like behavior. Not only do we not make those kinds of demands on other nations, we would not ourselves accept that terrorists should be able to roam our roads freely, that those who make war on us should be able to receive more weapons to do so without obstruction.

I'm not sure what else needs to happen before it is commonly accepted that the Palestinians are unappeasable. Four major wars, a series of agreements, all failures, and all failures for the same reason - the unwillingness of the Arab side to adhere to its sworn pledges - are enough to convince me. The ongoing propaganda in the PA and in the neighboring nations seems to be indisputable evidence that there is no intention by the Arabs to change their behavior under any circumstances. Many carrots have been offered and eaten yet nothing has changed. Offering more carrots is not a sane proposal in that context.

I'm rather insulted, although not particularly surprised, that you appear to think I'm the type to cry "anti-Semitism" like the boy of fable. If you peruse my record you will see that it is precisely the opposite, that I'm the first to denounce Foxman and his ilk. I have a simple definition of anti-Semitism, to which I adhere strictly. That is that any double-standard under which the behavior of a Jew is restricted in a way that it would not were he not Jewish is anti-Semitic. I find this a sturdy and accurate definition. It is one which Foxman's regular cries of "wolf!" do not meet the criteria, but under which a nation that makes war on terrorists must not press the only Jewish nation to be the only nation to be obligated to tolerate terrorism.

If there is a double-standard that applies only to Israel, then that is anti-Semitic. Maybe you've heard that term misused too many times in the past to recognize the real thing, but this is as real as it gets short of stuffing Jews into ovens. Make no mistake - innocent Jews will die because of the actions of our government in this matter. Many have died already for the very same reason.

I'm sure you have seen the lists of Islamic terror attacks against non-Muslims. The comprehensive version of that list is quite long. You might notice that Israel is never included in these lists. Why? Because the most comprehensive list that excludes Israel represents what Israel endures every month, and has for many, many years.

We cannot win our war on terror without also winning Israel's war on terror (the same applies to India as well, by the way). The enemy is the exact same one, not only the Islamics, but also their left-wing allies in free nations, and the same double-dealing Europeans.

If you don't want to hear it, so be it, this is the last I will say to you on the subject.

I think another reason Christians and Jews are growing closer is we Christians are understanding the depth of hatred many hold for us in the world. Of course the Jews have known it forever.

Why can't people understand that the Palestinians don't NEED the land for any reason other than to kill the Jews? There would be land for them anywhere in the Arab world if they renounced the violence.

I'm not a race baiter. Mentioning naziism is not ipso facto a violation of Godwins law if it is specifically intended to point to a behavior or group that is similar to the nazis. I find the palestinians to be such a group. Therefore, calling it as I see it is not race-baiting.
