Could be wrong, but I think statistically, there are more quakes in the full moon/new moon window (not just one day but 3 days either side w/ the full/new moon day being in the middle)- having to do with tides and gravitational forces.

I love your screename, by the way! :)

Global warming is real, it's very real. The polar ice caps are melting, we are destroying the ability of the planet to heal itself.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here's my thing. I'm not unconvinced that this thing is happening, but what makes me sick is the anti-american feelgood liberals running around making themselves feel good turning off their cars in the school pick up line. The number that keeps going through MY head is

6.3 BILLION PEOPLE.

It seems to me that the 'solutions' I'm hearing from the liberals are akin to a doctor looking at a patient with a sucking chest wound and saying "put a tourniquet on that."

If this thing is what it seems to be, what we need to be thinking about is ADAPTING, not changing the friggin' weather when we can't even patrol our darned borders or get North Korea to stop making nukular bombs.

If you mean top that, I have no idea.

If you mean how do you become an ex-scientologist, they have a routing form for that.

BTW, I have a standing offer to answer any FReepr's questions about scientology, either in open forum, or via FReepmail.

Please ping your Oregon list.

Those living in Coastal areas need to be aware of this potential.

That's not true, a full moon iss much, much larger than a new moon. I have empirically determined this by looking at it. ;-0

Not in the US; there's been no tsunami warning whatsoever for anywhere but Japan, and it seems there's been no tsunami at all.

You ought to go get you one of those Katie Holmes dolls before you quit. As long as you're going to brainwash them, you ought to git you some like Tommy tom tom. Assuming he's doing anything with her.

Statistically there's no increase in quakes around full or new moons:

http://seismo.berkeley.edu/seismo/faq/planets.html

There are some slight statistical increases with certain kinds of quakes relating to DAILY tides, but not to moon phases.

However there is an OVERWHELMING desire of people to believe such a moon phase relationship exists, for reasons that are somewhat obscure to me.

A major driver of the myth is noted seismological fraud/liar Jim Berkland, a regular guest on Coast-to-Coast, though.
