Rockefeller’s Confession
National Review ^ | 11/14/05 | Bill Bennett

Posted on 11/14/2005 1:30:58 PM PST by bnelson44

Yesterday, on Fox News Sunday, the following exchange took place between Chris Wallace and U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller, vice chairman of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence:

WALLACE: Now, the President never said that Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat. As you saw, you did say that. If anyone hyped the intelligence, isn't it Jay Rockefeller?

While Democrats in Washington are berating the White House for having prewar intelligence wrong, a high-profile U.S. senator, member of the Select Committee on Intelligence, who has a name more internationally recognizable than Richard Cheney's, tells two putative allies (Saudi Arabia and Jordan) and an enemy who is allied with Saddam Hussein (Syria) that the United States was going to war with Iraq. This is not a prewar intelligence mistake, it is a prewar intelligence giveaway.

Doesn't matter. He's a left-wing Democrat. Who's gonna care?

Not that I like it. It's just the way it is.

Let's not forget that it was another senior Senate Democrat that revealed the names of CIA undercover agants (in the 1980's).

That led to the death of two of our agents...

Good point, Bill! We need an immediate Congressional investigation of Jay Rockefeller--what did he know about Iraq battle plans, when did he know it, and to which of our enemies did he disclose it?

>>>where's the outrage? <<<

I just wrote to my senators demanding an investigation.

(for all the good writing Patty Murray and Maria Can'tDoWell will do!)

It really says something, the lack of outrage and surprise, at not just this but the Washington Post piece from last week.  It's not a cover up job so much as everyone just takes it for granted that Democrats are aligned against America and with our enemies.

(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,

 it was probably sarcasm)

Wallace did great. He actually got Rockefeller to answer "no" when he was asked if he should be held accountable for his votes on Iraq!

Reminds me of a C.S. Lewis quote: "Some people would rather itch than be satisfied."

How many agents were murdered when Jimmy Carter turned his back on the Shiah of Iran, thereby inviting the Ayatollah to walk in and dismantle an extensive CIA network in the middle east?
