With a Web site that allows its users to post classified ads for jobs, housing, companionship and other activities, "Craigslist" helped lead South San Francisco Police to a small prostitution ring.
Over the last couple of months the Police Department has arrested at least eight juveniles involved in various forms of prostitution throughout the city, the Police Department reported.
The most recent arrest came on Wednesday when detectives located an ad on Craigslist showcasing a woman who appeared to be under the age of 18, the Police Department reported.
After making contact with the girl, undercover officers were directed to a South San Francisco motel where they located the girl, 14, and 20-year-old Tykia Tosha Conway, the Police Department reported.
In the room was a computer used to post ads, a cellular phone that reportedly contained explicit photos of the teenager and other items related to prostitution activity, the Police Department reported.
Conway, herself an admitted prostitute, was allegedly pimping the girl, who was a runaway from Oakland, the Police Department reported.
Conway was arrested and booked at the San Mateo County Jail on charges related to the prostitution crimes and an outstanding felony warrant.

That's some pretty impressive police work there. I wonder what it was about the "erotic services" link that tipped off the gumshoes that some funny business was going on, and how long it took them to figure it out.
But, but, they're only selling their time and company! Anything else is done freely between consenting adults.
Wow, can't believe I got through that without busting up.
