Doofus. Unfortunately, a doofus with a loud microphone, a willing press and the ninth circuit.

Sigh.

I WORSHIP LIBERALS AND ATHEISTS therefore according to Jeff, atheists and liberals have no place in my child's classroom, on my money, in public view, and ultimately cannot hold any office of the United States government or any state of local offices.

By this logic math should be removed from public education, because of the worship of the Pythagorians. Do you have an argument that doesn't rely on faulty analogies?

I don't even like Newdow, but some of the arguments against his position are pathetic.

France rejected God during the French Revolution. Look where they are now. It's our (America's) future at the rate we're going.

The full four verses, for your studying pleasure:

THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER
Francis Scott Key, 1814

O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever when free-men shall stand
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

The left wing is that same mindset that would muzzel information as men did in the Dark Ages when people were put to death for scientific knowledge that contradicted Mother Church. For insight into this era, check out Pope Gregory.

Ah. Is THAT why we had to include the words, "Under God", to the Pledge of Allegiance, because it was written by a socialist?

I've come to the conclusion that Bill Cosby had it right as far as dealing with people like Newdow, who are overly litigious...

I seem to recall that Bill Cosby was talking about someone who was going to sue him, and Bill said that he'd beat him up if the guy sued him. The guy said that he'd sue him for beating him up, and Bill said that if he did, he'd just beat him up again!

I think that what Newdow needs is a serious, class A ass kicking!

Sounds apocryphal. Regardless, continued acts of assault and battery might be difficult after the first attempt lands the attacker in prison.
