You wish grandpa Actually, I am a grandfather. Is that a problem? Do you think that Free Republic has become a teenage hangout to disrespect adults? I suggest you run that little gem by another prominant boomer on this site, Jim Robinson. Good luck.

Earl Warren was born in 1891, Roy Wilkins in 1901, Lyndon Johnson and Hubert Humphrey in 1911, Rosa Parks in 1913, Nicholas Katzenbach in 1922, Malcolm X in 1925, and Martin Luther King in 1929. They were hardly Baby Boomers.

I have served as well. However, I was a bit young for Nam, being a mere 9 years old in March of '73 when the last soldiers pulled out. Grenada happened on my watch, but only the tiniest minority of soldiers and sailors had any direct involvement in that operation.

But I'm disheartened over what Boomers have vitriolically done to our countryI was born in 1956.
As an evil Boomer, I have voted strictly Conservative, worked almost every day of my life since I was 14 years old, raised two daughters on my own, campaigned heavily amongst my peers for fewer entitlements, and helped care for every aging member of our family in our homes until they died. Currently, I am enrolled in a Ph.D. track program in healthcare so I never have to quit working.
Social Security just informed me that I can expect about $800.00 per month if I retire at age 65. I don't expect even that small amount to be there IF I ever quit working.
Now, please tell me how I can pay society back for the insensitivity of being born in 1956.

Yeah, I understand why it's done. Just noting the dominance of those commercials these days due to the aging baby boomer populace.
