Advice needed, Playstation 2 games for troops

Asgardshill sent the Playstation 2 to the ECB at Baghdad last Christmas with a couple games.

Correct. The PS2 only comes with two controller slots. To have more than 2 people play a game, you need an adapter.

You also want to get PS2 memory cards, so players can save their games.

Actually we have sent a lot of books, including one by Dr. Phil, Family First.

Most of the books were more fun.

For Xbox, I recommend Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, Dead or Alive 3 or Dead or Alive Ultimate (if you can find/afford them), Soul Calibur 2, any of the Project Gotham Racing games or Forza Motorsport, Halo or Halo 2, and Ninja Gaiden or Ninja Gaiden Black.

Both Halos are great. I also think that Forza Motorsport is tremendous, but it's also on X-BOX.

The good ones on that list are the Tom Clancy ones. I suggest getting an XBox. =D Then get Halo 2 and Half-Life 2.

Cabela's Big Game Hunter Playstation 2

A big favorite of my son's. And although I'm not a hunter, I have to admit, it is a good game. Any outdoors type would really like it.

Best Buy, Circuit City has Xboxes for about 150, local Walmart 175.

Walmart's price for new Xbox 360 is about $400, but someone advised me that the troops might run into bugs in the new unit and be unable to get tech support, so said to go with the old version.

Also, you might want to send a copy of the movie, The Warriors (1979) and then the new game based on the movie. Both are great.

Already sent the Warriors to a Battery at Kirkuk. They requested it. I'd never heard of it before.

Another one is in the mail from Amazon and will go to Mosul probably.

Good for you! Great game based on a cult movie favorite from 1979. Very entertaining (and nostalgic, if you grew up in the'70s.)

OK...as a guy who has been trapped at home cripped since 2002,and a MAJOR game enthusiast (read geek!) let me go over your list line by line...oh, and a REAL good idea is buying these guys some PS2 memory cards, at least 1 per soldier in the unit. That way they can control their own saved games and progress.

Great game, only minor possible drawback is the fact these guys are living this stuff 24/7....maybe not a good idea to "relax" with it.
