This is the smartest article I've read in months. Too bad the best our "Republican" "leadership" seems to be able to do right now is consider eliminating tax cuts and argue over cutting a few piddly billion dollars here and there over the next 50 years.

The article may be smart and timely and I agree some of the original core principles have been subsumed by other things. One thing, however, I DO NOT believe is, is that Newt is the person to lead the Republican Core Belief rebirth on the national scene. He was my Congressman for many years, and the one big promise he made to us and everyone that would have really meant something, he outright dropped the ball and would not act because of his duplicity. He deserves to live in ignominity and he should stay there. I will never vote for him again for anything.
