For people living in Northern CA...Do you listen to KGO?
I am familiar with the station...I lived in Northen CA for a few years. One could listen to KGO, at night, in Southen CA.
Tonight, I listened to Bill Wattenberg at 10 PM. He was discussing how idiotic other KGO hosts were...Apparently, the hosts had some kind of debate on Iraq Friday night. (Bill is probably the only reasonable host on KGO.)
Bill mentioned that some KGO host compared US troops to Nazi troops...A father of a Marine, who was killed in action in Iraq, called Bernie Ward show. (I saw him once on Sean Hannity Show.) According to Bill, Bernie Ward told the father that the latter's son deserved to die.
Radio hosts, on the same station, verbally assaulting each other? I have not heard much of that down in Southern California.
It is great that conservatives in Bay Area could listen to KSFO. That station is not staffed by a bunch of lefties...
During the "KGO All-Stars", Karel offered to perform oral on Pres. Bush, if he would "bring the boys home."
Even I was shocked.
Karel is a no-talent drama queen looking for attention. He lacks depth of any kind.
I think Karel's boyfriend died of AIDS a few years ago.
I did not listen to KFI in the afternoon during the week when he and his boyfriend were on...
Right now, I frequently listen to KFI in the afternoon during the week. (Hosts are John and Ken now...)
What was the story behind Duane Garrett's suicide?
Wasn't it because of his business not doing well?
I believe that there were allegations of improprieties with his sports memorabilia business.
He used to have a show in Boston 10 years ago. I miss him and David Brudnoy (when he wasn't talking gay issues).
Karel just called for the death of Joe The Plumber
MAYBE he THOUGHT his mike was offair but the flaming idiot really does stand a great chance of being fired NOW
yup, Karel got canned.
anybody want to speculate on the who will get the 7-10pm slot? i would like to see john rothman get it, myself. christine craft is too sarcastic, IMHO. david lazarus just doesn’t have the “moves.” he could overcome being sort of plain vanilla if he was deeply expert in a subject, but I have seen no evidence of that. pat thuston is lots of fun, but she just doesn’t have the deep intellect or expertness in a given area (unlike wattenburg with physics and sciences in genral, or rothman with political history, or edell with medicine or tillem with law, etc.) thurston is too giddy and lightweight, IMHO, though she can be charmingly fun and feminine. brian copeland is a solid .260 hitter - not good enough for the 7-10 slot.
i love the way KGO os a meritocracy. if you pull the ratings, you stay on. it’s too bad jews don’t get hte kudos they deserve. check out how many jews are first-stringers on KGO
Len Tillem
Dean Edell
Ron Owens
Gil Gross
Bill Wattenburg
John rothman
Marty Nemko isn’t a first-stringer, i guess, but damn he’s good, and, surprise surprise, he’s jewish!
Note: I AM NOT JEWISH. However, i am deeply appreciative of whatever works well, and Jews rock on KGO, period. It’s too damn bad that it’s not PC to sing the praises of Jews in the media. they damn well deserve it.
CORRWCTION: In the above post I meant the 10-1 slot, of course (not the 7-10 slot, so ably handled by Gene Burns)
