Listening to KGO (the radio station)?

For people living in Northern CA...Do you listen to KGO?

I am familiar with the station...I lived in Northen CA for a few years. One could listen to KGO, at night, in Southen CA.

Tonight, I listened to Bill Wattenberg at 10 PM. He was discussing how idiotic other KGO hosts were...Apparently, the hosts had some kind of debate on Iraq Friday night. (Bill is probably the only reasonable host on KGO.)

Bill mentioned that some KGO host compared US troops to Nazi troops...A father of a Marine, who was killed in action in Iraq, called Bernie Ward show. (I saw him once on Sean Hannity Show.) According to Bill, Bernie Ward told the father that the latter's son deserved to die.

Radio hosts, on the same station, verbally assaulting each other? I have not heard much of that down in Southern California.

It is great that conservatives in Bay Area could listen to KSFO. That station is not staffed by a bunch of lefties...

Apparently. It has been some years since I lived in California, but their web site still lists him.

I, too, used to listen to KGO in the days of Jim Eason. When he left, it just wasn't the same.

A friend of mine in college said his friend used to call into Talliafero and get on the air with phont calls, then pester him. Apparently he was very angry about it. I guess it's easy to do that when you are on in the middle of the night, and not many callers. About six months later, I happened to hear a few minutes of his show and someone was doing that. I can't remember exactly what they were saying, but he was having a meltdown over it.

A KGO talk show host, Mr. Karel, accuses Bill Wattenburg of being homophopic



The following email is from a listener to Bill Wattenburg show on KGO Radio, San Francisco. On 29 October, 2005, he alerted Bill of a website put up by Mr. Karel in which Mr. Karel makes false accusations about Bill Wattenburg. Read Mr. Karel’s 24 September posting on his message board below. He kept this publication on this public communication channel until November 3, 2005. It speaks for itself.



KGO management has confirmed in writing that Bill Wattenburg has never barged into the manager’s office and demanded that Mr. Karel be fired from KGO Radio.

Dear Dr Bill. I am thrilled to hear your voice once again on KGO. I enjoy listening to all of the hosts on KGO (excluding Ray Talufario)

I found on Karel’s website a message board in which one of Karel’s fans says you are homophobic and another one calls you a pedophile because you talk to the young kids. I started an account on Karel’s message board as asked him to say EXACTLY what you said and what Karel said. But Karel never posted an audio link or transcript. Maybe he is not aware of it. I don’t know.

Dr Bill Wattenberg worked for Lawrence Livermore as a scientist for many years. He's a genius, and has helped the US military engineer air lifting of heavy cargo, helped redam Folsum when the dam broke a few years ago, amongst many other accomplishments.
