What I was just pointing out is that the old school "blue collar Catholic" families simply can't afford to support large families anymore. Lower Middle Class folks of ANY religious/racial stripe can't do more than 1-2 kids in places like NY or NJ.
3 girls, 4 boys - and an ultrasound tomorrow to determine what brand the next one is.
While we do live in NY - we are upstate and it is more affordable. But it IS NY afterall, and is difficult paying NY taxes, especially with the PA border within sight from our house.
Our kids definitely wear hand-me-downs.
The culture is definitely designed for 2 kid families, but we adjust as best as we can.
