Conservative Broadcaster Bill OReilly is making no apologies for his inflammatory comments about San Francisco.
"I'm from New York, OReilly said on the radio Friday. There are dozens of people in my neighborhood, on Long Island, who are dead because of 9/11, and you people are telling me you're not going to allow military recruiting out there. Hey, it's serious, and I think you guys need a wake-up call."
OReilly is upset about the citys proposition discouraging public schools from allowing military recruiters on campus. On his national radio show Tuesday, he said San Francisco should not get a nickel of federal funds.
"And if al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it, he said. We're going to say, 'look every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower, go ahead.'"
On Friday, San Francisco Supervisor Chris Daly told CBS 5 that he is taking action against OReilly by introducing a resolution demanding that Fox News executives fire the conservative host.
"I was outraged," Daly said. To green light terrorist attacks and violence shows a lot of hate, not a lot of humanity. It's un-American."
Daly says that San Francisco firefighters are livid over OReillys remarks because Coit Tower was built as a monument to their profession.
"To choose that target, given the context of bravery of New firefighters on Sept. 11th, is doubly harsh message from Bill OReilly, Daly said.
Mayor Gavin Newsom says the proposition does not mean that people in San Francisco are Anti-military. He says that people just have concerns about what he calls predatory recruiting.
The funniest thing about O'Reilly is the fact that the left actually believe that if they can take him out of the media, they'll win in the political arena.
BWAAAHAHAHAAA!!!
You are cruel. Putting Colmes up against Alan Keyes is like sending someone with a whiffle bat to a gunfight.
Actually I have lived most of my life in Southern California, but now live here in the bay area. Only an 'outsider' can really appreciate the true elitist snobism of true San Franciscans. I thought it was funny, especially the write up in the comical.
Just ignoring, for the moment, how bad the politics arein SF, what is really hilarious is the built in inferiority complex of most of "THE CITY's" residents.
I love the bay area, the wine country and all that, but San Francisco?
It is an 'ugly' city set in a fabulous location.
Maybe he was angling for Dan Rather's job. ;-)

Hey! It's not my fault that when it comes to ideas Liberals come to a gun fight armed with a very dull club.
He was probably lumping this story in with the ban on handguns to say that SF doesn't want any kind of defense or involvement with weapons, people who use weapons, and people who teach the use of weapons. This city also drove the Navy fleet out of town but still pretends to have Fleet Week each year.

Putting almost any conservative against almost any liberal is an unfair match, but Keyes would be overdoing it. Not that I wouldn't watch Keyes & Colmes, mind. But it is still mean.
"I was outraged," Daly said. To green light terrorist attacks and violence shows a lot of hate, not a lot of humanity. It's un-American."
And I'm outraged over morons like Chris Daly and his commie cohorts. What exactly does he think is going to happen after they disarm the citizens and kick out the military? Of course, SF is known as Bagdad by the Bay, although Potemkin Village may be a more appropriate term for now.
These liberal-commies are so blind and dense it is amazing. They have obviously never studied history, but I guess having a "feeeeeeeeeeeling" is more important than facts.
Recalling growing up in SF, it used to be a great town, very pro-military. We had the Presidio, Fleet Week, and even a monument out at Pt. Lobos to the USS San Francisco, a WWII battleship.
And if you want to call it Frisco, that's OK with me - reminds me of the good 'ol days.
Do you want to see a monument to a WWII battleship in San Francisco today? go to maps.google.com and search on "Benicia, Ca". Click on the satellite button and drag the "mothball fleet" that's just right of center to the center and zoom in as close as possible. That's where the USS Iowa is resting.

Won't this be a anti-free speech resolution? From a San Fran politician? I'm shocked!
Maybe this is where CBS' forged memo came from.

My tagline says it all.
LOL!! Good ones.
Yes. Send B.O.R. an email. Add ammunition against SF city -- they are trying to censor B.O.R.!
