This is too bad. I think Urquhart had a lot of potential and Hatch has become jaded and been around too long.

Why do these politicians insist on sticking around for three or four decades? The country will survive without them.

Hatch is probably at a high level in Amway. Folks don't want to mess with him.

Well, Urquhart failed to meet the goals he set for himself, so at least he didn't drag it out (he deserves credit for that). Our #1 priority in Utah should be taking down Matheson. It remains inexcusable that we have a liberal 'Rat sitting in a Conservative GOP district.

After all, Hatch (R-RIAA) has seniority. This trumps any of his obvious faults.

Exactly why we need term limits. The deal with seniority means that some states have more effective representation than others.

She was Nolan Karras's running mate last year for Governor. The Karras-Green ticket made the runoff, losing to the now incumbent Governor & Lt Gov. She's not nearly as toxic as many believe.

I've always liked Sen Hatch. Would have been a great pick for the Supreme Court. Not to mention, he is consistently voted best dressed.............

Correct, The right thing would be for Hatch to retire, he has served his country for long enough. However, this wasn't going anywhere.

Unfortunately, although there's now a problem with some senior congresscritters (both houses) taking over everything, there's also a problem with unelected senior bureaucrats taking over everything. Putting term limits on congresscritters would give the bureaucrats even more power.

Completely disagree. This could serve no greater purpose then to drain our resources, and there was no chance in hell he was actually going to win the primary anyway. Hatch is a good man. I don't agree with everything he says all the time, but he's one of the most conservative old timers in the Senate.
