It has not been easy being in a military family...the separations, the goodbyes and all the missed holidays and special occasions....but ask anyone of us if we'd do it again the answer would be...You betcha....To quote Eric right after he got back, when his uncle asked if he'd do it again........."In a MINUTE."
But it's not easy........especially for a kid. Pray for our returning vets......
Heading to bed now. Good Night, All........and HAPPY VETERANS DAY!!

If there is a politician I despise more than any other, it's Ted Kennedy. I have ZERO respect for that worthless pompous ass who thinks he is some kind of self appointed leader in the Senate. Ted Kennedy is a disgrace, much like the rest of that in-breaded bunch of Kennedy's who are known as the Hampton Liberals who think they speak for the rest of us. Joe Kennedy was a crook, and the illegal money he raised through boot legging, is how we got JFK, RFK and still have Teddy. There is NOTHING honorable about that family and histery will show that the so called Camelot was more like a Brothel.
I know this is harsh, but I firmly believe that the only remarkable thing JFK ever did was to be a backstop for Lee Harvey Oswald's rifle round

EVERY DAY IS VETERAN'S DAY
That is so right Mike, especially since I'm married to a Vet. They're all heroes, but mine is the best of all.
I'm grateful every day he made it home.

You're both making me hungry with all this talk of crabs and Red Lobster. Red Lobster isn't too bad for being inland. They have the best cooks around Indianapolis.
Have you ever been to Joe's Crab Shack, July4th4? They have a good crab cake for being so far inland, served with a mango salsa and spicy dip. Pretty good. Good steamed crab legs, and the best salmon in Indy.
I'm going to Red Lobster on Sunday for my birthday, you're getting me enthused about the trip.

Is that what Prince Charles was wearing(poppy) in his lapel when he arrived at the White House? I recall the pix.
I can remember grade school.. we had various charities we collected/gave to. Red feather & the poppy.. think it was a veterans collection.. SOOOOOOO very long ago. We all wore the little poppies indicating we had donated in our classrooms to the charity.
I never knew the significance of the poppys at that time. did you have a similar thing in England? wondering if it was an international event
