A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 11.11.05
White House, Yahoo | 11/11/05

Posted on 11/11/2005 3:53:06 PM PST by MJY1288

Today the President spoke to a group of Veterans at the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania where he discussed the War on Terror and counter the useless lying democrats who have been very busy doing all they can to undermine the War, The President and our National Security. The Former Amphibious Automobile crash test dummy, Ted Kennedy, was quick to release a statement condemning the President for speaking out against them on Veterans Day. White House Press Secretary, Scott McClellan, responded to the fat Drunk from Massachusetts with this statement:

"It is regrettable that Senator Kennedy has chosen Veteran's Day to continue leveling baseless and false attacks that send the wrong signal to our troops and our enemy during a time of war. It is also regrettable that Senator Kennedy has found more time to say negative things about President Bush then he ever did about Saddam Hussein. If America were to follow Senator Kennedy's foreign policy, Saddam Hussein would not only still be in power, he would be oppressing and occupying Kuwait."

Two thumbs up for the President and Scott McClellan

That's pretty cool. In the US, the vets had out small "poppies" that folks usually attach to a jacket zipper or pocketbook. It's also a good chance for us to make a donation to the vets hospitals and such.

Ditto that DrDeb

Mike and Eric deserve our respect, honor and gratitude for there service to our great nation and so do the 25 million other veterans we honor today.

In Honor of our troops and veterans I post this quote of President Bush's feelings towards our veterans and their families....

"I've learned first-hand that ordering Americans into battle is the hardest decision, even when it is right. I have returned the salute of wounded soldiers, some with a very tough road ahead, who say they were just doing their job. I've held the children of the fallen, who are told their dad or mom is a hero, but would rather just have their mom or dad.

I've met with the wives and husbands who have received a folded flag, and said a final goodbye to a soldier they loved. I am awed that so many have used those meetings to say that I'm in their prayers and to offer encouragement to me. Where does strength like that come from? How can people so burdened with sorrow also feel such pride? It is because they know their loved one was last seen doing good. Because they know that liberty was precious to the one they lost. And in those military families, I have seen the character of a great nation: decent, idealistic, and strong."

When I witnessed President Bush deliver the above quote, my heart ached for our good and decent president, who loves our troops like few presidents ever have

Great to hear you are on the mend a real answer to prayers.

Mum had a good day today and was fairly alert when we visited her in hospital. She is more lucid than in a long time. I suspect this is because they are ensuring she is eating, I think when she gets back to the home I will look into getting some dietary supplement drinks as she seems to like them.

She also was without prompting actually drinking water mixed with Robinson peach flavoured concentrate.

So 2 answers to prayers - thanks for all of your kind words, thoughts and prayers for mum.

Check THIS out:

"I support the troops, but not the war":

Then you don't support the troops. Once US troops are deployed in a foreign war and you actively protest and attempt to undermine the government's prosecution and even rationale for the war, you are no longer supporting the troops.

You are protesting your government, as is your right, but the troops are part of the government and you protest them whether you admit it or not. You may want the best for them by ensuring they don't fight a war you don't approve of, but they signed up for all enemies foreign and domestic, and that's the President's call.

You are especially culpable in this time of instant and worldwide media, by providing fodder for the enemy, their propagandists and the media in countries whose support the troops need to succeed. Protesting is legal, without question, but well open to question is whether those actions make the missions and war itself more difficult. I am certain they do, so while you are chanting your mindless sing song at least be intellectually honest and admit you are hurting the troops not supporting them."

(snip)

"Armchair Generalship:

Every time I encounter a lefty pontificating about the awful planning and prosecution of the Iraq war, I wish Rumsfeld did have strangling gloves like in Frank J's world. Unless I missed something, no situation vaguely analogous to Iraq has been tackled in the modern age so no actual comparison exists and consequently we don't know for sure if this was a quagmire or the most brilliant, visionary, military exploit ever.

Anyone who has served, knows the military plans for everything and that there were obviously plans for post-war Iraq. We went with the one our best minds on the subject agreed on, not all of them, but most.

And the media has already managed to shape the conventional wisdom to be a shameful lack of planning leading to the defeat they are sure is right around the corner. 5 years from now we will look back and without the distortion of the media's defeatist lens see a true example of liberty delivered not at the point of a gun, but definitely by warriors carrying them."

From the Canteen

THE FINAL INSPECTION
Author: Unknown

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass,
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"

The soldier squared his shoulders and
said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here,
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod,
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well,
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

For the freedom you enjoyed yesterday... Thank the Veterans who served in The United States Armed Forces!!

And, do visit the FR Canteen.

You know, one thing which seems to have been overlooked regarding the polls by our giddy Democrats is that their ratings were lower than the Presidents. Fox reported that on one of their polls, Bush got 34% approval rating while the Dems got 33% or somthing like that.

It would be interesting to see what the American people think of Harry Ried, Nancy Pelosi, and Ted Kennedy. How come we don't see any polling data on them?

At the end of the service in the Royal Albert Hall which the BBC will broadcast live they drop poppy petals from the ceiling each one representing a serviceman who has died in service. So unfortunately each year there are more petals.

. . . this was the most poignant part of the President's acceptance speech at the Repubican National Convention . . . He was in tears and was every member of the viewing audience!!

Our President LOVES his troops and they love him back . . . Together they will bring freedom and (genuine) peace to this generation and generations to come!

Hi, Mike. Thanks for putting these pictures up, and your comment about the despicable swimmer at the beginning is great. Where else could we get such a thorough understanding of what is going on but on this daily thread. Seeing the pictures adds a great deal to our understanding. We are grateful to all of you dedicated people who diligently provide this thread week after week. The president's speech was great. I read the text earlier.

I have a poppy I will take a photo of it in a moment and post it. If you remember when Reid was in the US and Prince Charles and Camilla a few days ago they were wearing poppies.

All the people of TV wear them and most people wear them to work as well during this week.

You know, that was the speech that made me stand up and notice George W. Bush...the specific moment was when he said "Freedom is not America's gift to the world...it's God's gift to mankind."

He had tears in his eyes then too. I remember stopping dead in my tracks. I was at work and I saw him on widescreen T.V.

I wish I had taped that speech.
