"It is regrettable that Senator Kennedy has chosen Veteran's Day to continue leveling baseless and false attacks that send the wrong signal to our troops and our enemy during a time of war. It is also regrettable that Senator Kennedy has found more time to say negative things about President Bush then he ever did about Saddam Hussein. If America were to follow Senator Kennedy's foreign policy, Saddam Hussein would not only still be in power, he would be oppressing and occupying Kuwait."
- Scott McClellan, White House Press Secretary
Sen. Kennedy On Iraq
Sen. Kennedy Said Saddam Hussein Was Developing WMDs: "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." (Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Remarks At The Johns Hopkins School Of Advanced International Studies, Washington, D.C., 9/27/02)
Sen. Kennedy: "Saddam Hussein Is A Dangerous Figure. He's Got Dangerous Weapons." (CBS' "Face The Nation," 10/6/02)
Sen. Kennedy Now Says The President Manipulated Facts About Iraq's WMDs: "'Instead of providing open and honest answers about how we will achieve success in Iraq and allow our troops to begin to come home,' Kennedy said, 'the president reverted to the same manipulation of facts to justify a war we never should have fought.'" (Deb Riechmann, "Bush Forcefully Attacks Critics Of The War In Iraq," Associated Press, 11/11/05)
Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Kuwait. (S.J.Res.2, CQ Vote #2: Adopted 52-47: R 42-2; D 10-45, 1/12/91, Kennedy Voted Nay)
Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Power. (H. J. Res. 114, CQ Vote #237: Passed 77-23: R 48- 1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, Kennedy Voted Nay)
Yep...Texas, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, etc. etc. etc.
Where do I enlist? I wouldn't miss that one! All you would have to do is say "Boo" and they would start waving white flags and peace symbols.
You know I think it would be pretty easy actually...since all they would do would be to try to appease us...
Webster's:A war is a conflict carried on by force of arms as between nations.
A Joint Resolution is NOT the same thing as a Declaration of War, either semantically or constitutionally.
What Congress did after Pearl Harbor was a Declaration of War. Our congresscritters haven't had the balls to make a Declaration since.
I hope so too. But it's long past time they defended themselves. They need to do it for the troops.
Happy Veterans Day.
Actually, I have sailed in a couple of races against the fat puke and he is not a bad skipper.
Robert Alexander, Maryland delegate to the Continental Congress, 1775-76. After the signing of the Declaration of Independence, he defected to the British navy. A court convicted him of high treason in 1780 and confiscated his property.
Andrew Allen, Pennsylvania delegate to the Continental Congress, 1775-76. Quit just before the Declaration of Independence was signed, fled to the British army and swore allegiance to King George III. Found guilty of treason.
Joseph Galloway, Pennsylvania delegate to the Continental Congress. Remained loyal to the crown, enlisted in the English army. The Pennsylvania General Assembly convicted him of high treason in 1778 and confiscated his land.
Lambdin P. Milligan, congressman from Indiana. Tried to discourage constituents from enlisting in the Union Army, 1862, and became an antiwar leader. The U.S. military arrested him in 1864; found guilty by a military commission of giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Sentenced to be hanged on May 19, 1865, but end of war prevented execution from taking place. The Supreme Court later ruled that the military had no jurisdiction to arrest and try the congressman because his actions were outside the theater of war.
Alexander Long, congressman from Ohio, 1863-65. House of Representatives censured him in 1864 for "treasonable" statements.
Clement L. Vallandigham, congressman from Ohio. Found guilty of treason and sentenced to exile in the Confederacy.
Its high time to add about four score present day congress traitors to that list.
Not to mention their propaganda wing in the press.
The funny thing is that it should take just one small nuke or something similar to spell the end of the traitorous left and their sick and destructive influence on the United States of America.
On the unfortunate day when another attack resulting in a massive loss of innocent American life occurs, the left can be literally eviscerated.
The GOP must be prepared to arrest and imprison the traitorous Democrats that give aid and comfort to the islamonazi enemy and sap the will of our nation to win the war on terror.
Good Gawd, what's the deal with Keith Olberman, Craig Crawford and Mo Rocco? Maybe next week they could talk about their favorite Judy Garland records. Fricking creepy...
I still have doubts about whether the White House has the stuff to see this one all the way through - they've played the punching bag for so long that I wonder if they've forgotten how to fight. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now and say they're ready for it.
The President threw a firecracker into the hornet's nest with that speech today. If he thinks he can now just stand there and try to play nice, he deserves to get stung over and over again.
Your're right. It would take another loss of life for the left to take it in the shorts.
Their excuse would be to blame it on Bush, though.
Another way would be to have your Senator propose a Bill of Censure against their Lefty counterparts.
I sent this one to Sen. Frist to lay the smackdown on Harry Reid:
A Bill: Resolution of Censure of Senator Harry Reid
Whereas on November 8, 2005 Senator Harry Reid of Nevada wilfully and publicly impugned the integrity of the Vice President of the United States by saying "The manipulation of intelligence to sell a war in Iraq, Vice President Cheney's involved in that."
And whereas Senator Reid continued his public attack by stating "The White House energy policy that puts big oil ahead of the American consumer, Vice President Cheney is behind that. And whereas Senator Ried also said "Leaking classified information to discredit White House critics, the vice president is behind that."
And whereas these types of public personal attacks, WITHOUT OFFERING ANY EVIDENCE, demonstrate action contrary to senatorial ethics and tend to bring the Senate into dishonor and disrepute, that obstruct the constitutional processes of the Senate, and to impair its dignity; such conduct by a member of the United States Senate is hereby condemned.
RESOLVED:That the Senator from Nevada, Harry Reid, failed to maintain proper public ethical standards by impugning the ethics of a sitting Vice President of the United States. His behavior on November 8, 2005 betrays the necessary good conduct as a Senator and has affected the honor of the Senate.
His abuse of Senate rules has prevented his fellow members from carrying out their assigned duties, thereby obstructing the constitutional processes of the Senate, and that this conduct of the Senator from Nevada, Mr. Reid, is contrary to senatorial traditions and is hereby condemned.
I know it would never come to a vote, but it would serve notice for the Dems to STFU.
About time somebody set that fat Piggendy straight.
Bump to print out and put in my car window.
You are absolutely right.
It's simple really. And sad too...they're a bunch of liberal morons!
You forgot the Barf-Alert: Fat Pig in the room!
Easy: They just steal elections; like buy the Presidency for JFK in Illinois.
I wouldn't be so sure about that.
It is my humble opinion that faTeddy (Unindicted Murderer) does nothing under his own power anymore. faTeddy (DUI-MA) doesn't seem to have thought of anything under his own steam for years. faTeddy (Expelled from Harvard) seemed to me to just be reading what was thrust before him by eager staffers with agendas during the last SCOTUS questioning.
faTeddy (Had His Tour of Duty Reduced by Daddy) (Served in Europe Not Korea After Strings Were Pulled by Daddy) (Did I Mention How Daddy Made His Fortune, and That Daddy Loved Hitler?) has no business mentioning Veterans' Day.
YOU ARE UNDER ARREST FOR RETINAL ASSAULT!!
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT.
ANYTHING YOU SAY WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU BY THE NEXT LIBERAL WALKING BY.
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO AN ATTORNEY WHO BELIEVES IN A LIVING CONSTITUTION.
IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD AN ATTORNEY.....TOUGH BUTTONS!
/sarcasm ;)
LOL! ;-D (#122)
Yes it is.
