WHITE HOUSE: Setting the Record Straight: Sen. Kennedy On Iraq
White House ^ | November 11, 2005

Posted on 11/11/2005 3:07:21 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

"It is regrettable that Senator Kennedy has chosen Veteran's Day to continue leveling baseless and false attacks that send the wrong signal to our troops and our enemy during a time of war. It is also regrettable that Senator Kennedy has found more time to say negative things about President Bush then he ever did about Saddam Hussein. If America were to follow Senator Kennedy's foreign policy, Saddam Hussein would not only still be in power, he would be oppressing and occupying Kuwait."

- Scott McClellan, White House Press Secretary

Sen. Kennedy On Iraq

Sen. Kennedy Said Saddam Hussein Was Developing WMDs: "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." (Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Remarks At The Johns Hopkins School Of Advanced International Studies, Washington, D.C., 9/27/02)

Sen. Kennedy: "Saddam Hussein Is A Dangerous Figure. He's Got Dangerous Weapons." (CBS' "Face The Nation," 10/6/02)

Sen. Kennedy Now Says The President Manipulated Facts About Iraq's WMDs: "'Instead of providing open and honest answers about how we will achieve success in Iraq and allow our troops to begin to come home,' Kennedy said, 'the president reverted to the same manipulation of facts to justify a war we never should have fought.'" (Deb Riechmann, "Bush Forcefully Attacks Critics Of The War In Iraq," Associated Press, 11/11/05)

Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Kuwait. (S.J.Res.2, CQ Vote #2: Adopted 52-47: R 42-2; D 10-45, 1/12/91, Kennedy Voted Nay)

Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Power. (H. J. Res. 114, CQ Vote #237: Passed 77-23: R 48- 1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, Kennedy Voted Nay)

Clearly, the White House knew what would be coming after Bush gave his speech and had quotes ready to slap on the first democrat that piped up. Kennedy was that democrat. Hope he enjoys that right hook from Bush--he surely didn't expect it!

Oh yeah, and keep it up, Dubya!!!

Now, if someone would just arrest him [Kennedy] for murder or even negligent homicide...

Good to have Kennedy there to take the bait and define the Dims.

The Marshmallow Man actually said that?

Imagine Michelle Malkin as WH press secretary. Now that would be fun!

It's also unfortunate that Senator Kennedy is still holding public office. Poster boy for term limits.

Ha! I think Massachusetts could use a regime change.

Why in the hell do people continue to elect this vile human and others like him? Seriously! Can somebody explain?

Sure. They are liberals. Suicidal, deranged, confused, and murderous Socio-Bots. Given half the chance, they would happily murder another 100 million, including you and your family, to prove that their superior view is correct. These evil-spawn are not just incredibly wrong, they are extremely dangerous. This is why we need the Second Amendment.

I guess it was just as fawning as E.D. Hill's interview with Mapes on F& F's this morning.

Looks like the toughest grilling she'll get is from O'Reilly, just as I figured. I won't count Brian Ross' gutting of her on GMA a couple of days ago, because I'm sure he assumed she'd be better prepared and that he didn't mean to trash her.

"I think he is the least intelligent and least talented of the Kennedy brothers. "

Considering what a bunch of losers the Kennedy Klan is, that says a lot.

LOL - I can only imagine that David Gregory and Terry Moran are deeply saddened.

When asked for a reaction to the President's remarks,
Helen Thomas replied...
ULULULULULULULULULU
ULULULULULULULULULU
ULULULULULULULULULU
ULULULULULULULULULU

;o)

With a little preparation, I believe Texas is willing to invade if President Bush gives the command. :-)

U.S. Congressmen Convicted of Treason

Robert Alexander, Maryland delegate to the Continental Congress, 1775-76. After the signing of the Declaration of Independence, he defected to the British navy. A court convicted him of high treason in 1780 and confiscated his property.

Andrew Allen, Pennsylvania delegate to the Continental Congress, 1775-76. Quit just before the Declaration of Independence was signed, fled to the British army and swore allegiance to King George III. Found guilty of treason.

Joseph Galloway, Pennsylvania delegate to the Continental Congress. Remained loyal to the crown, enlisted in the English army. The Pennsylvania General Assembly convicted him of high treason in 1778 and confiscated his land.

Lambdin P. Milligan, congressman from Indiana. Tried to discourage constituents from enlisting in the Union Army, 1862, and became an antiwar leader. The U.S. military arrested him in 1864; found guilty by a military commission of giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Sentenced to be hanged on May 19, 1865, but end of war prevented execution from taking place. The Supreme Court later ruled that the military had no jurisdiction to arrest and try the congressman because his actions were outside the theater of war.

Alexander Long, congressman from Ohio, 1863-65. House of Representatives censured him in 1864 for "treasonable" statements.

Clement L. Vallandigham, congressman from Ohio. Found guilty of treason and sentenced to exile in the Confederacy.

"... by tearing down those who seek the truth about the clear manipulation of intelligence."

What fatso doesn't realize from his own self-incriminating statement, is that if Bush's "manipulation" was so clear, how did a self-described elite like kennedy fall for it?

Gullibility must be a desirable trait for scumbag Dem leaders.

Kennedy, on his best day ever, is a whoremongering, murdering, drunken, lying, silver spooned, bastard.
He should be arrested, charged with stealing valuable resources from the public (air) and incarcerated for life!

Other than that, he is a decent sort of chap!

Clearly, the White House knew what would be coming after Bush gave his speech and had quotes ready to slap on the first democrat that piped up.

They would have to be total fools not to know. I just hope they realize that Senator Sot's drunken blubbering was only a tiny little taste of what's to come. The media is just beside itself with rage at President Bush tonight - you can practically see and hear them quivering with pent-up fury. As far as they're concerned, he pulled off his glove and slapped them across the face with it.

We're going to see total, all-out war between the White House and the press now - it'll make their abuse of their power and their hatred up to now look like nothing. I just hope the administration is ready for a long, bloody siege.
