An Islamic fundamentalist lawyer has said Ireland is a "legitimate" target for a terrorist attack.
Anjem Choudary, speaking at a debate Thursday at Dublin's Trinity College, claimed Ireland was open to attack because of the government's decision to allow U.S. troops to refuel at Shannon Airport, the Irish Independent reported Friday.
"If you are going to allow your country to be used to refuel a U.S. plane which is going on a bombing raid, what do you expect our reaction to be? This is not neutrality," he said.
"A U.S. pilot is no different from the Irish person who allows the plane to land. They are collaborators," said Choudary, who is under police surveillance in Britain.
Another Muslim extremist, Umran Javed, told the debate that although he did not see an attack on Ireland as likely, retaliation would come "swiftly" if Ireland increased its support for the United States.
The comments came only hours after the head of Scotland Yard, Sir Ian Blair, warned that Dublin is as much at risk of a major terrorist attack as other large cities. Senior Irish police are studying Choudary's remarks to determine if they represent an incitement to hatred.

Is Trinity an important College? In a Class with liberal California colleges, or a serious international educational player?
I must confess to ignorance about some parts of the British Isles.
Why would this muslim apologist speak there?
Again.
Why not rest the sob for making threats?
Hi Publius, thanks for your welcome. To put you straight, I am Irish born, bred and brought up in Co Armagh (bandit county LOL!) Trinity is a serious player among international colleges, being the best we have in Ireland and among the top 200 colleges world wide. Unfortunately Trinity has fallen victim to an insiduous breed of political correctness over the past few years, particularly in the sociology department which refuses to open its eyes to the damaging effects that immigration is having on our country. It is a terrible shame because I am watching my once great alma mater go down the tubes.
I consider myself "set straight"...
They're gonna do that anyway - might be an American on the plane - or better yet, a Joooooow!
Nothing on Earth is a legitimate target for a terrorist attack.
Religion of Peace? My arse!!
Doesn't this clown have a stoning or two to organize?
Yes, but he is having difficulty finding a girl who's completely innocent of the charges!
Oh dear, how do survive the Sinn Fein/IRAers?

Yes, Trinity is great university, my sister goes there! Of course, you are correct - it has fallen into liberalism (and Hibernofascism) in recent times, like other colleges in the Western World.
