I've worked at an electronics supply distributor for the last 20 years. About 10 years ago, we had a fella come in inquiring about purchasing a large quantity of carbon-zinc batteries (you remember those, right?) When I inquired as to why he needed such a large quantity, he replied that he takes the batteries, cuts them open, extracts the carbon and mixes it in a paste then spreads it on his roof to keep the spy satellites from seeing inside his house.
