Plamegate: Did Joe Wilson blow his wife's cover in a Fox News green room? Just what did the media know and when did they know it about something that was as secret as who's buried in Grant's Tomb?
Retired Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely is a familiar face to charter members of the vast right wing conspiracy and others who regularly tune in to Fox News to hear his insights into the liberation of Iraq and other national security matters.
He has spent a lot of time in the Fox News Channel green room, some of it, he now reveals, with Joe Wilson, the former ambassador to Gabon and mint tea drinker.
Snip:
So why didn't colleague Tim Russert know that "widely known" fact? More important, why didn't special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald? If everybody already "knew," particularly if Wilson himself was telling everybody, how could common knowledge be "leaked"? And why is Scooter Libby under indictment for allegedly lying about telling reporters what they already knew?
Maybe Joe Wilson has some mint tea leaves we can read.

"...This as liberal Websites say they have proof Vallely is lying, saying research service LexisNexis shows Vallely and Wilson never appeared on FOX on the same day. But in fact, Vallely and Wilson appeared on the same day nine times in 2002, and on the same show twice on September 8 and September 12, when both men appeared within 15 minutes of one another..."
I thought these facts should be repeated. Since the left can't seem to do basic research, perhaps this will help them. LOL
I've always thought Wilson was himself the source of the information about his wife.
I've also always thought that there was a cabal of CIA employees who abused their position to undermine the Bush presidency during an election cycle.
I'll take Brit Hume's word over bed-wetting liberal bloggers any day.
It's hard to believe anyone would think Vallely would create such a story when research could prove him wrong.
Sweet!!
Some weeks ago, FBI agents reinterviewed Wilson's neighbors -- just before Libby's indictment -- and the gist of it was that the neighbors knew exactly what Valerie Wilson's job was -- common knowledge. No wonder Fitz couldn't indict Libby for revealing it. This is much ado about nothing, well, except for the Liberal, Clinton-loving CIA cabal out to get Bush.
You're certainly not alone in your thinking. Please see: What's a President to do?
Hmmm. I understood Fitz received the exact opposite response - that none of her neighbors knew she was CIA. I found it hard to believe.

In fact, way back in October of 2003, FREEPER Wolfstar made the case as clear a day...
I don't know if you were lurking and had found FR yet, but I suggest you read the piece.
Set up? Anatomy of the contrived Wilson "scandal" (10/02/2003)
I think I would take the word of a reputable Fox news anchor (and one of theior news directors) over hunhinged liberal blogers...especially when the news item occured and can be verified on thier own home turf.
Why didn't Wilson or Plame testify before the Grand Jury? Am I missing something?
How about Mitchell saying her comments were taken out of context? The entire exchange was posted word for word and she insists parts were taken out of context to support a particular political point of view. I don't know how these people think this will work for them when there are so many people who have seen it for themselves and there is a tape and transcript available.
re: undermine the Bush presidency during an election cycle
Sure they did! And they knew full well they were placing the administration between a rock and hard place. To refute the misinformation they were spewing to the press on a daily basis meant having to explain the conditions under which Wilson made his junket to Niger. As soon as the administration tried to set the record straight those in the CIA who had cooked up this coup cried foul.
It would be great if all this comes out in Libby's trial, but I have been around too long to hold out much hope it will.
I would LOVE to see a smack-down on live TV between MGen Vallely, a man of honor, and that lying weasel Joe Wilson. People like Wilson make me want to cover up my State Department service and claim to have been something honorable, like a purse-snatcher.
Maybe they learned how to research from Mary Mapes.
I agree when did all the FBI folks check it out ...If I recall correct it was on the last day or so of a two year investigation. While everybody was at work and neighbors that didn't even know who the phlame was.Maybe they thought the pinokieos lived next door.
