Clinton was a good pol and used car salesman. He could sell a monkey a Yugo.

Accomplishments? Outside of high jacking the welfare reform law from the Pubs what else was there?

He was fortunate enough to surf on the dot.com wave. That;s it.

The only time he pushed for somethig was socialized medicine so like all "great" Democratic Presidents he could hang his hat on another entitlement program. When that blew up and the GOP took over congress he suddenly realized he might wind up being another Jimmy Carter. From then on it was all about getting the approval numbers up rather than making tough decisions.

And most voters just do not grasp that concept. It makes me insane the way people think the President controls the economy. As if the President sits in the Oval Office and says, hey, let's do this today! And presto, the economy responds within a day or two. I think in many cases, the President in office at any given time is reaping the results of a previous administration's economic policies. It also bothers me that a Dow over 10K seems adequate justification for abuse of office, personal malfeasance, disrespect and downright hostility toward the military, and a liberal Supreme Court (to name a few items).
