LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Los Angeles area, which has not had a professional football team since the 1994 season, is now a prime candidate for two franchises, NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said on Thursday.
Tagliabue met on Wednesday with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to discuss the possibility of bringing teams to the antiquated Los Angeles Coliseum, the former home of both the National Football League's Rams and Raiders, as well as a proposed new stadium in Anaheim.

Two teams?! The city couldn't even keep one!
Guess the NFL will never learn. LA doesn't care about football.
They can have our Colts. I'll even help the extorting bastards pack.
LA Butt Pirates?
LA already has a football team. They're called the Trojans.
It doesn't care about baseball either and yet MLB insists on starting the World Series games at 8:30 ET so the folks on the west coast can get home from home work and not watch it.
This may be the WORST thing that could happen to the NFL.
They need to expand to San Antonio and Another city out of these possible candidates: Charleston, Norfolk, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Pensacola/Mobile and possibly Columbus since it is the biggest city in Ohio now (I think it could support an NFL team) in that order...
LA doesn't WANT a team much less 2. They had trouble selling out when they had a GOOD team. Hell USC hasn't lost in 3 years and up until this year hadn't sold out all of THOSE games, and they sell 30,000 fewer tickets for those games in the Coliseum.
And they could probably play on Sunday, too.
They'd easily win the NFC west.

Where the hell are they going to get TWO teams from without expanding?
I think San Antonio has better turn outs for the Saints games, but the NFL has made it very clear, we are a small market, and can't have a team.
That's fine with me since I could care less about the NFL-I'm a hoops fan. Go Spurs Go!
it means they will end up moving a couple teams.
I think the NFL CAN expand still, but they won't.
New Orleans is the obvious one. But who else? Arizona? Minnesota?
How about Detroit? It won't be Cleveland....
Damn, looks like the Detroit Lions are finally going to move.
Well them winning the north goes without saying. The Big 12 north champ could win that division.
You must not have seen the crowds at the USC games this year.
Oh, I think they know that already. It's the $100M Franchise Fee they're going for. After that's paid...Who Cares?
