"I tend to vote the party line, but Sphincter has broken this tradition. Now I vote conservative, damn the torpedoes."
I hear you. Being a Californian, I got ridiculed for voting for the conservative Tom McClintock instead of Arnold (it's funny to hear the same critics complain about the Governator now). It seems as if the Rinos in Washington need some kind of a fire up their arse to return to their base, and even then it doesn't always work. I like Santorum, but was extremely disappointed with him and W for backing up that weasel Spector over Twomey. I just wish there was a way to rid ourselves of Dem Lights like Spector, Snow, Collins and McCain (I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but these are the ones that make my blood run cold).

if the GOP and repubs in general, the ones running the party, if they don't figure out fast precisely WHY they are in power and accurately determine how they got there, well, then they won't be for very much longer.
and it will happen. the GOP has no clue as the precisely why they are in power. they make things up that make good sound bites for both sides but they are clueless for an answer.

In every poll, Rick Santorum falls further behind. An incumbent polling under 40% is in terrible shape. If he doesn't make some progress soon, the GOP shouldn't rule out looking for a better candidate.

He has not ran his campaign yet. In today's political climate, the campaign never stops.

I doubt he'd do the latter because it would be tantamount to an endorsement of Swann over Scranton. This wannabe back-bencher had no problem whatsoever endorsing Specter over Toomey. Good riddance.

Isn't Casey pro-life. Yes. So at least he has some sort of moral framework to his views.

What's Pat Toomey up to these days? He's running the Club for Growth.
I suspect he's waiting until Specter seat comes up again, which will probably be before 2010. The reaper waits for no man.

Senator McCain is a national hero and a man of integrity and principled leadership, said Secretary Blackwell.

Did I miss the first 11 months of 2006 somehow?
The campaign hasn't even started yet!

In today's political climate, the campaign never stops.
Seems like conservatives haven't forgotten--or forgiven--Santorum's backing of SnArlen Specter over Pat Toomey. I myself am still pretty pissed off, but I do think it's time to bury the hatchet and defeat Casey.
To: TonyRo76
Hmmm, so you're suggesting Specter might actually be a specter by the time his seat comes up in the normal rotation? Interesting... The man looks like he has one foot in the grave and one on a banana peel. Of course I said that two years ago about Lautenberg and he's still with us. So I could be wrong. It does add an extra dimension to the PA governor's race that the governor may need to at some point appoint a replacement for Nosferatu, I mean the esteemed senior senator from Pennsylvania.
