Well, if you're a reader of the Bible, you'll see that God used drought, famine, war etc. to get people's attention.
God is still the God of the Bible.

I don't see anything illogical about Pat Robertson's commment.
If God is out, He's out and any public invocation, in event of tragedy or peril in Dover, should logically cite another source of solace. "The brotherhood of man" perhaps.

I understand that, I don't believe in the Bible. I think its just a bunch of fairy tales. That is just what I think though, I don't mean to belittle other peoples beliefs.
Maybe when I say he's 'nuts' I am belittling his or your beliefs and I did not mean it that way.
To: yellowdoghunter
but the Christian-haters will always show up to bash Robertson, Dobson, Franklin, etc.... Hate Christians? Not a chance in this world. But comment about these guys when they say really stupid stuff like this? Yes.
There was a day when you would NEVER see that on FR....but times have changed.
Flapdoodle.

Probably a statement of frustration over people's spiritual blindness. The good news is when the Sons of God appear, with the seven fold anointing of the Holy Spirit. They will heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out devils, WITHOUT FAIL. Then the final call will be made to humanity to accept or reject His Kingdom. Those who accept will be blessed, and those who reject will be subject to real biblical wrath as described in Revelations. But until they are revealed, man's fallen condition, with all its effects, will continue to afflict mankind.

Wasn't Pat Robertson one of the traitors who said that America DESERVED 9/11?

But weather doesn't have free will. He will use it to get attention if that's what it takes to shake people up if needed.Sorry. Don't buy it.

This is, in fact, ALWAYS good advice. When there's a disaster... FIX YOUR PROBLEMS! Do not turn to help from gods or governments. You probably won't get it. Cultivate the ability to deal with the real world without calling for help all the time.

Don't worry I don't feel belittled.
But the Bible really is a fascinating book, a record of how God has worked through history.
It's encouraging to know that He wants to have personal relationship. Quite comforting to understand that truth.

Yeah, but He teases Pat Robertson once in a while. Otherwise how can we explain Pat's false prophecy in 1991, when he said that god told him that there would be an economic boom and a landslide reelection of George H.W. Bush.

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected him from your city.
That's right stupid of him. I wish he would STOP talking for Christians. And he PROBABLY wonders why some people have bad opinions of him too.....
Also, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't saying something like this a sin itself as according to the Bible?

Teaching evolution as the 'Origin of Life' is spitting in God's eye. Have you read your Bible lately?

Apparently God was annoyed that those regions are so religious compared to, say, hurricane-free New York and San Francisco.
