Not so many needed to be on the ground. IMO that was the political lack of will to move one way or another regarding Nam.
They very much had the ability to bomb things that would have won the war if they choose to (nuclear not needed).

Nam was the first time the American left won the war for communism through their breaking of the will of the American people to win.
Like this current crop of weasels we have in the left and press, they grow the body bags and will of the enemy by siding with them in their "AMERICA IS ALWAYS WRONG" thinking.

To me it was a war of ideolgy and that was the BIG DIVIDE.
If it had been a voluntary war it would of been one thing, but young men fresh out of High school FORCED by there draft cards to fight in a war of ideology?
