24 hours a day, seven days of the week so these whiny ungrateful twerps can blame us for all their problems.

These whiny ungrateful twerps are out in the deserts of Iraq, and the mountains of Afganistan dying for the mistakes of your generation's first president. I don't see too many Boomers out there in the bush with us Gen X'ers. But I certainly see alot of you riding desks happy to have us do your dirty work. Spare me the "We won the Cold War" attitude, most of the people that did that are worm food now. Your challenge was always Islamofacism, and you settled for peace and prosperity. 1979? Osama Bin Laden? The Kobar Towers? USS Cole? Ring any bells? Don't get on your high horse, it just hurts more when you get knocked off.

Cheers,
CSG

I'm confused, your post implies that you yourself are in service fighting the war ("in the bush with us") but your profile says you're riding a desk in a company that is profiting from the war. Which is it? Out there getting it done or just stealing the glory of the guys who are just because of your age?

Clueless arn't you. Thank Carter for starting this mess. BTW born 1924.

I don't see too many Boomers out there in the bush with us Gen X'ers.

You are in the "bush"? Did you actually serve are you just blowing smoke? I actually served overseas in the military.

But I certainly see alot of you riding desks happy to have us do your dirty work.

I am too old to be in the "bush" now. But I was there. Where were you then?

Spare me the "We won the Cold War" attitude, most of the people that did that are worm food now.

Apparently history is not your strong suit.

Your challenge was always Islamofacism, and you settled for peace and prosperity. 1979? Osama Bin Laden? The Kobar Towers? USS Cole?

Logic is not either it seems.

Don't get on your high horse, it just hurts more when you get knocked off.

Well it certainly wont be by you, will it.

Cheers,

LOL!

"spare me the"We won the Cold War" attitude, most of the people that did that are worm food now"

I am not yet 50, and see no worms munching on my body.
BTW, that "We won the Cold War" attitude is one I have.
Because I did participate in that one, for eight years.
It was an all volunteer force, at the time.
And no, I do not consider myself in the same category as any combat veteran of any war, past or present.
But let me clue you in on something, just so you do not insult me and my fellow veterans unintentionally.
If you think the USSR folded on a "bluff", you are dead wrong.
"We" were not bluffing. We knew the price, and prepared ourselves to pay it every day. That was our life. That is how I spent my young adult life.
And although the DOD denied me the opportunity to wear a uniform and "do what I did best" one more time,I and my peers, are still milling about, amongst the general civilian population.Lurking, for want of a better word.
I invite you to look closely into any of our eyes, and tell me/us we have no right to be proud that we "Won the Cold War" .
Especially around Veterans Day.
And as to the thread topic, the generational Social Security argument...
Make the cutoff date the day before my birth, and I will call all the taxes I have paid, sunk cost, and we will be done with socialism.
Better that I absorb the price of injustice, than pass it on to my child.
I, and all my "Cold War Veteran" peers, are supremely qualified to make that call.

There is much confusion among the faction of Boomers who went against the hippie grain. Certainly, fighting in Vietnam or sitting in a missile silo is commendable. However, those who did not negated much of the good done by the patriotic minority. Indeed, as noted, Clinton was the first Boomer president and embodied the worst of the Worst Generation. Also, I might add, some of those here who did their duty back in the 60s and 70s still voted Democrat and socially were liberal.
