I have an uncle that wanted to join the KKK back in the day, until my grandfather told him he would kill him!!!

He is the only one in my mom's family that is still a Dem! What does that tell ya?

The KKK used to come to our door the night before elections -- the code phrase was "you are going to vote the right way, right?" Usually about 5 or 6 thugs with Democrat campaign crap and Confederate flags -- Dad always said yes, he was 100% Democrat. Everyone in the neighborhood knew what was going on, no one did much stop it. If you protested, there were consequences.

When dad closed the door I would ask him why he said that? All he would say was 'I don't want no trouble, I can vote how I want on election day'.
