Trans-Texas Corridor PING!
I-69? Sure I do.
Say what?!? Why that's totally 'unrealistic' < /sarcasm>
Good for the state to turn road building back to who should have been doing it all along
I'm familiar with Hwys 59 and 77. Where does 281 go?
The highway isn't dead. Our elites have a Socialist Community of North America to build.
Cost means nothing to people who are just going to steal the money from someone else's pockets.
Back in the 90's I listened to the satellite feed (when I worked in TV) for the Arkansas Radio Network. They talked about a plan to build I-69 in southern Arkansas. If they ever build I-69 I hope someone in Congress offers to name it after America's only president from Arkansas. I-69 The Bill Clinton Way. Or something like that. Any suggestions?
Wow! Someone in TX sure spent lots of money putting up "Future I-69 Corridor" signs. If you drive between Corpus, and Brownsville as I do all the time you will know the signs.
I-69 may be dead in Texas, but its alive and well here in Indiana...............
With all the construction on 83, the big time construction on 281 through Edinburg, plus the excellent roads in and out of the Valley on 77 and 281, I don't see why a real interstate is needed. Yes, you have to slow down on 281 in Falfurias and Premont but you can then cut over to Kingsville (lots of red lights). On 77 you've got pretty much clear sailing all the way to Bishop. Get past Bishop and when the construction in Robstown is completed, it will be just about clear all the way to I37. Both 281 and 77 are divided. I don't see the advantage of an interstate.
This is what I think of building highways to the 3rd world cesspit to our south
I-69:
Since the wetbacks can't get here fast enough as it is.
First of all,it's been a while since I have seen references to anybody shooting fairies. Tough crowd.
Also, I-69 will be an unlucky designation for a road. Why?
Because I-68 is the speed limit for sex. After that, you have to turn around.
(I'm not sure if this is close enough to offensive to actually get pulled from the thread. Just had to test the limits.)
I-69 is alive and well thanks in part to Ron Paul!

See pg. 20 where Paul requests funds for Interstate 69.
See what Louisiana says about I-69.

This reminds me of when the Democrats were whining back in 2004 before the election about how there were bills in the Republican controlled Congress and Senate that would reinstate the ‘Draft!’ and how if Bush won in 2004 he would make sure the Draft became law!
When in reality it was only Democrats who sponsored the ‘Draft bill’ then many of which conviently voted against it when the bills finally came up!
