"Drunken Blogging Brawl" (say that 10x fast)
CNN 'American Morning' w/ Miles O'Brien
Posted on 11/10/2005 6:05:50 AM PST by hellinahandcart
Anyone else happen to catch Mary Mapes on CNN's American Morning just now?
It was much the same stuff we heard last night on Larry King; however she sounds a tad more bitter and combative today. She deeply resents being made the victim of a "drunken blogging brawl (because that's what it was)".
Good people, this tippling-in-front-of-the-computer has to stop now. Just imagine how we could change America if we were all posting sober.

"Mary Mapes then presented what she claimed was an original copy of the Declaration of Independence which endorsed Partial Birth Abortion. It was written in crayon on the back of an Eskimo Pie wrapper. She stands by her story."
Oh I remember that. Wasn't it before (or maybe after) she presented that dot matrix computer printout of the secret agreement George Senior had with Adolph H to convince the Iranians to hold the hostages until Ronald Reagan got elected?

OBVIOUSLY, these ravings are a precursor to a book or ten.
She's feelin' out the book tour.

I'm gonna cut her some slack. The one guy that should be continuing to humiliate himself like this is Dan Rather. Mapes is doing Rather a service - making him look 'sane and reasonable'.
She gains some notoriety (who ever heard of Mapes before this?), Rather gets off the hook...

"Drunken Blogging Brawl???" Why didn't anyone tell ME? There I was, sitting in my jammies, cold sober, while Buckhead made history. Well, I have learned. Cheers.

"drunken blogging brawl (because that's what it was)".
I resent that comment, I was on that thread....Seldom even have a glass of wine. Had nothing that night....Where can I sue her for defamation of character......(think that would shut her up!) ;^)

I don't ever remember engaging in drunken keyboarding on the information superhighway.
But I do remember waking up and finding my ISP burnt to the ground from all the flamers I'd gotten overnight.
I still wonder....

If it weren't for FreeRepublic, John F. Kerry would be President now. Think about that. No, if it weren't for Free Republic, Al Gore would be in his second term as President now. Think about that!

Mary Wrolstad nee Mapes is the reincarnation of a Lower East Side female immigrant who perished in the Triangle Shirtwaist fire off Washington Square in early 1900s.
Spirits reliving this disaster tend to think the Texas Air National Guard could have saved them, had it been so minded. In fact, obsolescent fighter aircraft did twist time sufficiently to rescue some of them, but the plane piloted by George W. Bush took one look at Mde Wrolstad nee Mapes and hustled back to 1974.
For going SPLAT on the sidewalk, Mary has never forgiven George or his mis-fortunate TANG. But, hey! There was always Kaiser Bill, and after him the "Bohemian Corporal" who was not worth opposing if it disturbed her rest. But Uncle Ho was another matter-- now there's The Man. Would he not look great in Shirtwaists?
Our point --should anyone doubt it-- is that Mary Wrolstad nee Mapes can say absolutely anything she wants, and it will all be equally absurd, not to say peculiarly malign and stupid. Do these "news programs" consider Rather's fabrications still an issue? How about Triangle Shirtwaist, then, with time-twisting fighter-jets... where do they draw the line?

In every ulcer there's the soul of the poet trying to breath free. Or some such. You may want to consider becoming a science fiction/fantasy writer. Just a suggestion.
