He should post a sign that says anyone who has a child they describe to people as precocious, please leave immediately. Precocious is fancy talk for an ill mannered, loud, spoiled brat to me. This business owner has the right to run his business anyway he likes. Good for him.
Sign in coffee shop: "Unattended children will be given an espresso and a free puppy."
I agree. I think noise and bratty, rude children are a major problem or symbol of the age.
Go to a Barnes & Noble now and see the place used as a study hall for college students who hog tables and chairs, set up their computers for hours, put their dirty shoeless feet on tables and chairs.
I know it's "old fashioned" but what ever happened to manners. I guess they put their dirty feet on the furniture at home too. And, "CAN WE TALK" and talk, and talk LOUDLY on our cell phones too so everyone can listen in?

Kids act up, it's what they do. If the parents could control them, there wouldn't be a problem. If I misbehaved in public when I was a kid, my mother would slap me. Actually, my cheek still stings a little and it's been 25 years.
We have a rather precocious child, but she has very good manners in public. We have at least one boy who could be described in the same way, but he knows when to behave and when he can be obnoxious without incurring the wrath of daddy and mommy.
