When was the last time, Buckley defended McCarthy, as right on the money?

I'm not sure.
By the way, I apologize for my tone. I shouldn't try to imply things about you just because we disagree. I know that is a common thing lately on FR, but I don't want to be a part of it. You've been more civil than I, and I appreciate it. So, I'm sorry.

His list of names was inaccurate, but the idea that commies infiltrated high levels of gubmint was spot on.

Ann, "If McCarthy was "wrong about 99 percent of them," when are we going to get a movie about one of the 99 percent? I might go see that movie."
****
Ann does it again! Beautiful!

You are absolutely correct. The best most recent example is what is happening in France. I think it took about four or five days before the MSM started reporting on it in the states. If this story happened to be about Irish Catholics and Protestants going at it, it would have been front page news the first day. And still today, the MSM is loath to report that it is the "religion of peace" people doing the rioting. In fact, whenever there is another story hitting the airwaves of a bombing or whatnot, I always state that the religion of peace is raising their head once again.

I had gotten tired of her SCOTUS obsessions, so I'm glad she's gotten back to ridiculing liberals. That's when she's at her best,IMO.Yes.

I hope Soros invested a billion dollars in Clooney's turkey.

What kind of behavior would you propose they (HUAC) go after? For starters, the congressmen (McDermott, Levin?) who went to Baghdad and appeared on CNN to criticize the US just before we invaded Iraq. It sure looked like aid and comfort to me.
How about the ANSWER, MOVEON notables calling for the assassination of President Bush?
I know that a new HUAC will never happen, yet the bulk of the leadership of the democrat party wouldn't mind our defeat in the war on terror if it meant their return to power.

Hey lady! We knew Danny Ocean, Geoge Clooney is no Danny Ocean.

And, for those of us who do not patronize George Clooney movies... ...and hence, do not understand the "Danny Ocean" reference made in the title of this article. Thanks! I don't and I didn't.

"Putting aside all the chit chat, McCarthy was a reckless, demagogic drunk, whose incompetence and ineptness with the facts, and penchant for overstatement, was the ultimate elixir for the Left, from which it profited handsomely until Reagan sucked the air out of it all. The attempt to rehabilitate McCarthy won't get a pass from this quarter."
McCarthy had his flaws but SO WHAT. I can point to any number of politico's who were even worse AND are portrayed positively in the Liberal media and history books.
Who was worse -McCarthy who was careless with facts and was NOT the best spokesman - or all the Liberal Senators who knew about Hiss and his Commie Spies and tried to cover up for them?
Or all those liberal media types who told us the Stalin was good ol' "Uncle Joe"and that we should disarm and bring the home after VJ because Stalin was threatened by all those US troops in Europe? (Look at the progressive platform in 1948)
I've got news for you, every Politician that went after the commies was smeared and attacked. Nixon was actually a liberal at heart, but that didn't matter, he went after Hiss, and the Left spent the rest of his life smearing him at every opportunity.

Until Treason, that's all it ever was with McCarthy. Portraits of Kathy Boudin, Che Guevara, Ted Bundy, and Joe Stalin are more nuanced than portraits of McCarthy. ... ... When you start to sound like Molly Ivins talking about George Bush, you might want to entertain the possibility that you are a few tweaks away from the dispassionate truth.
Excellent!
