SAN FRANCISCO -- Voters approved ballot measures to ban handguns in San Francisco and urge the city's public high schools and college campuses to keep out military recruiters.
The gun ban prohibits the manufacture and sale of all firearms and ammunition in the city, and makes it illegal for residents to keep handguns in their homes or businesses.
Only two other major U.S. cities _ Washington and Chicago _ have implemented such sweeping handgun bans.

I am sure all have heard of this already. It is so disturbing however that we must not forget how silly the masses can be and how irresponsible government can be.
This is too good.... I can't wait for the criminals to have a field day..... bwahahahahahahahaha..
They should enact a "homeless" shelter freedom zone, so that all the homeless people can head there as well.....
Maybe even a "jail-free" zone so that we really get rid of all the garbage in our state.
THAT will make the criminals behave, by golly.
Behave badly, that is. Now there is virtually NO threat to the perpetrator that the victim will attempt to defend himself (or herself).
Just like they do in Washington, DC, and Chicago....
this reminds me of that line from LOTR II.. when Eowyn was asked by Aragorn why she carried a sword, and she reponded; "We quickly learned that those without swords can just as easily die by them...."
The left just doesnt get it.
When the muslims take over we know what cities are gonna get hit first. Dumbasses
Hopefully the crooks from Alabama will feel safer over there and go.
Can SanFran also vote to make free speech illegal in the city limits? Free press? Freedom of religion? Or just the right to bear arms?
Anyone have the stats of gun crimes by city (per 100,000 population)?
The silver lining behind this cloud is that we won't be getting too many San Fransiscans in the armed forces.
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has decided, in their infinite(simal) wisdom that the Second Amendment is a "collective right," not individual, and the Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal.
Now we get to see if the 40% that voted against the bill will jealously defend their constitional rights, move, or turn in their spines with their guns.
Hurrah to those that resist this tyranny with all necessary zeal and resources.

And they are crime-free. /HEAVY sarc
SF is already a homeless shelter freedom zone. Ever walk around there at night?
Flowers and fancy talking don't stop thugs bent on harm.
Zark snickers in the twilight.

You know...I kinda wish SF would have been nerve gassed in the movie "The Rock" know...seeing as how the Friscans dont have any nerve...it would have been an improvement.
I guess that US Senator Diane Fineswine,DA Calif, will have to leave her concealed carry pistol back in Wash, DC when she comes back to SF for her annual visit.
