San Francisco Voters Approve Handgun Ban

The gun ban prohibits the manufacture and sale of all firearms and ammunition in the city, and makes it illegal for residents to keep handguns in their homes or businesses ----That ought to make it real easy for rapists and murderers to get away with crimes now because something tells me that THEY will have guns. The victims will have nothing but their fists. And you don't bring fists to a gunfight. Once again, the criminal element in the world wins again because some voters held the lives of everybody else in their hands. I hope it will still be ok to call the police and get help without infringing on the criminals rights or the voters who voted against arming yourself in your own home! /sarc

The 2nd Amendment bestows the right to bear arms on "the people," and everywhere else in the Constitution, "the people" means the people as individuals, not collectively or in their role as agents of the state.

Of course, but that blindingly obvious point is evidently lost on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and it's their decision that determines whether or not someone is thrown in jail, not ours.
